Error code 5: Access is denied - AsIO3.sys!!

I've read all the threads about this error. Looked at video's on youtube and none have resolved this error. I have come to the awful conclusion that this error is generated due to some strange marriage of Asus software that has dependencies on each other.

My rig is a TUF z490 with Wifi, Asus RTX 3090 24 OC and Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ 27" 4K UHD 3840x2160 144Hz HDR DSC Gaming Monitor.

My Asus software installed is ASUS Framework Service, ASUS Motherboard, AURA, Aura Creator, Aura lighting effect add-on (+x64 version) and Aura Service.

All of the above software are the latest versions.

I don't have AISuite or Armoury Crate installed.

The error code 5: Access is denied - AsIO3.sys randomly pops up every hour or so.

Any suggestions to eradicate this error permanently would be appreciated.

Thanks

SOLUTION FOUND------>AsusCertService
Well, after 12 hours of investigating this error code, and after creating multiple restore points, I've come to the conclusion that this problem is caused by a disabled service.
This service is usually enabled by default, but some scan/repair software tools like Advanced System Care disables this service through the manual optimization feature/process.
To fix this error, you must enable AsusCertService in the optimization panel in whatever repair/scan utility tool you use. If you don't have any repair utility, then do the following steps to enable this service:
1- Type services in the taskbar search box.
2- Left-click services one it appears.
3- Locate AsusCertService.
4- Righ-click it and choose properties from the menu.
5- Set the Startup type to Automatic and click on start then OK.
Not sure if you need to restart here or not. In my case, I didn't need to.

Wow, hey I didn't expect anyone to go all out for 12 hours for me. You are the best kind of person on the internet!

I followed your steps and got working again. Thanks!

JC

I couldn't find any solution; I had to resort to an alternative software because Armoury doesn't recognize my components. I tried every possible method, but I kept encountering the AsIO3.sys error. And even when that wasn't the case, my computer wouldn't recognize my components, and the RGB wouldn't work. It has been a headache. Fortunately, during my search, I came across this amazing open-source program called OpenRGB, which recognizes all the components and brings back my RGB functionality.
