Did you mean:

do I still need to use the DIP5 standalone utility with Windows 10 1809 October 2018?

I ask because a fresh install of this build actually re-introduces the correct power options - previous versions only had "balanced" listed.

What do you mean by "standalone"?

It's how it is described in the download page. It's a cutdown version of the AI suite.

I found that there is extra drivers for chipset and what not if I just install everything off the CD that came with me ROG strix 370-e, however the new Ai Suite and DIP seem to overclock a lil better if I don't have any software driver clashes ie. for some reason windows i assume went a automatically loaded 200 series chipset drivers all throught mydevice manager. I don't believe that is what I wanted unless some1 can tell me otherwise. I swapped them all back to Intel specific but does not state 300 series on the ones i changed back from 200 series...
Back to the initial question, I believe you should be running the "standalone" or the latest Ai and DIP because they are intended for the later patched versions of windows 10, if you wanna keep autoupdate and sys info in the new vversion just drag and drop those folders from older versions within the newer version install dir.
I have found though with nearly any of the software that comes with the motherboard cd you MUST uninstall the previous software before installing the new one as it will not do it automatically for you like Nvidia, Java, adobe etc.

Hope this helps
