Hello everyone,
I am worried I may have messed something up on my card here. I have the Matrix GTX 980 and am using the GPU Tweak II software in Windows 10.
I was playing around with the Power Target setting and I noticed that the GPU temp target increased right along with it. I decided to change it a bit for some reason, I slid the Power Target all the way up to 125 and the GPU temp went up to 91. I went and slid the GPU temp back down to 79 and for whatever reason I hit the BURN button. Everything seemed fine, it rebooted and sure enough my power target is 125 and GPU temp target is 79. The problem is now I can't change the temp target to anything else. If I try sliding the power target around it does move the GPU temp but as soon as I hit APPLY the GPU temp instantly jumps back to 79. No matter what I change it seems this temp is always what it is set to now. I even tried to change it back to 125 / 91 and quickly hit BURN, no luck it's still 79.
I even tried hitting the BIOS RESET button on the card, booted up, GPU tweak asked if I wanted to reset everything, I said YES, it said SUCCESSFUL and rebooted, still it's stuck at 79.
Did I somehow mess this up or is it always supposed to be on 79? Does this even matter? As far as I can tell this setting just tells the card what the temperature you'd like to hit (maybe at max) and 79 sounds way better than 91 anyway right?
Thanks for any and all help and advice!
Tim
