Is anyone else experiencing an issue where Asus lighting service prevents CPU to drop clock speed to idle? Only "Static", "Breathing" and "Color cycle" are working correctly and they let CPU to idle, all the rest will keep CPU clock speed maxed out all the time.

Yes, I have this issue as well. Those 3 modes work fine. All other modes use 10%+ CPU and won't let the computer sleep or idle properly.

I have Armoury Crate (which is not working well with missing menus) from the beginning with my new X570 full Asus (and Aura sync) configuration, but Aura was working (in Armoury Crate) but it misses some hardware (like my ROG Gladius II and my ROG Claymore keyboard).

So I try to install the last version of Aura 1.07.71, and now NOTHING IS WORKING anymore, even Aura in Armoury Crate, THANK YOU ASUS.

My second Asus build, even more problems with Asus software. This is the last time I buy an ASUS build i think, enough is enough, Iam not a ROG fan anymore. Your software branch is as disaster for a long time ago and nothing change.

Armoury Crate is impossible to update. I uninstalled everything I can.

I re-installed Armoury Crate from WIndows Store, Aura icon not here in the left anymore, I downloaded "SetupROGLSLService" an exe file but nothing special happened, how am I supposed to use that file? Thx

Update: When i click on tools on the left, the app is crashing. Better and better...

And please what is Asus Framwork service ? should I uninstall too?

Now I already uninstalled "Armoury Crate", "All MB", "Ryujin", and "Armoury Crate Lite", installed again Armoury Crate in Windows Store, click on "SetupROGLSLService.exe" and reboot, and uninstalled it again because nothing is working it crashes.

Many thanks for help.

I wish ASUS had a beta in the works we could test out. There are clear problems with it, hope it's actively being further developed to fix these pretty huge bugs. After all, we buy all of these components with RGB so we can use it.

1.07.71 is unusable. We're all waiting for ASUS to acknowledge it's bugs and release a stable version. Being a new owner of RGB hardware I am definitely let down by ASUS for their really poor software. Not what I expect from them. Their hardware is amazing, wish their software would catch up.

I agree, very good hardware, but if the softwares are not working or instable, it can even influence the performances of the PC in a bad way.
The new Armoury Crate is a very good idea which combines several things in one, but it doesn't work too (or not stable).
As I said they should leave the software part to another well reputed compagny, because the reputation of Asus risk to suffer hardly. It is not normal to pay money for Aura compatible hardware if the software doesn't work. My fans Aura compatible in my Asus Helios have for now no RGB anymore, what a shame...

I think that the armory crate is on the right direccion the idea to make 1 app to control all is what i want to see. but still on the works. i send some reports Thursday.

The most frustrating part as an end-user is not knowing a roadmap on software updates from ASUS or clear acknowledgement that there is issues with their software leaving us to think we're doing something wrong. I expect more from ASUS.

I recently went full-on RGB but the ASUS Aura software constantly would crash, depending on certain peripherals.
I've nailed down my crashes to AacMouseHal_x86.dll (1.0.0.15 used by 1.07.71) causing the issue by handing off incorrect data to HID.dll. The results from the HidD calls are not being checked or honored! You must do this!!! Your code makes assumptions in several places. (Using version 1.07.71.)

lea ecx, dword ptr ss:[ebp-0x8]
push ecx
push eax
call dword ptr ds:[<&HidD_GetPreparsedData>]
push esi
push dword ptr ss:[ebp-0x8]
call dword ptr ds:[<&HidP_GetCaps>]
push dword ptr ss:[ebp-0x8]
call dword ptr ds:[<&HidD_FreePreparsedData>]

And in another location:

push ecx
push eax
call dword ptr ds:[<&HidD_GetPreparsedData>]
test al, al
je +0xF
push esi
push dword ptr ss:[ebp-0x8]
call dword ptr ds:[<&HidP_GetCaps>]
push dword ptr ss:[ebp-0x8]
call dword ptr ds:[<&HidD_FreePreparsedData>]

I patched my own DLL to check the return values. LightingService never crashes anymore. Consistently swapping between patched and unpatched versions of the DLL are conclusive. My patches succeed in fixing things, in short.

Device being accessed: \\?\hid#vid_5543&pid_0047&mi_00&col01#8&2921918d&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}. This is a UC-Logic Drawing Monitor, with a Pen as well. (A branded XP-Pen 22HD). I have reported this device before as being a trigger for ASUS Aura crashes.

I have also just walked through and confirmed HidD_GetPreparsedData returns 0 (FALSE, aka ERROR) for the Device I mentioned, but your code just uses it anyway assuming it 1. Your problem (the crashes) are your assumptions that those API calls always return true or success when in fact they don't for some devices. In other areas of your DLL, you do check the values. But not in these two routines. Why? ???

ASUS doesn't allow uploads so if you're interested in testing, I can give you either a patch list or an actual DLL. (Rebuilt relocations table manually and added code to end of .text section.) Not for the faint of heart to trust, but you can do a byte-by-byte comparison.

A quick look through most ASUS Aura DLLs show some more calls to HID stuff. Double-check your return values.
