Hey guys,
do not update to 1.07.60 It won't work no matter what. Just crashing and in the rare cases that it actually starts there's nothing but the motherboard recognized. Definitely not going to repeat the mistake of buying asus products in the future. It's clear Asus doesn't give a **** for their customers buying those overpriced products with crap software.

Cheers

i did the same, now all version i install crashs the aura sync

Try uninstalling and deleting the Lighting Service folder, then reinstall the older version.

i just updated my bios (maximus formula x) to the latest and now aura wont work or the new version of aura. keep getting "arus stopped working- dr dump".

I had a few issues when I updated to 1903. Got the aura stopped working and wouldnt load my profile at startup. I ended up uninstalling aura and the other rgb programs thru control panel and then deleted the lighting control folder in program files x86 then restarted computer and installed the latest aura and knock on wood no issues for past 4 days since 1903 update.
Maximus XI Formula, I9-9900k, Phantex Evolove X, Seasonic Titanium 850W, Custom loop PE360+SE360 Rad, G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200C14 32g, Nvidia Reference RTX 2080 TI, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1Tb, Windows 11

1. The BIOS/firmware version for your hardware.
2903
2. The AURA SYNC products you own and any other 3rd-party lighting software.
Maximus X Formula motherboard, ROG Strix 2080; Razer Synapse software for peripherals
3. If a power cycle has made any difference. (Shutdown, power off, unplug power cable for a minute)
No--normally after installing each app, I would restart. After uninstalling and reinstalling, I would shutdown, cycle power on the power supply (to cut power to
the motherboard), then start up and install the next app. This yielded the same results.
4. If you have tried reinstalling Aura or Windows already.
I've reinstalled Aura several times; I have not reinstalled Windows. I did reinstall Windows during my last problems with Aura and LiveDash a couple of months
ago, and even then the problem would come back (this was a different problem, but newer versions of Aura and LiveDash--1.07.35 and 1.05.03 respectively--
seemed to solve the problem I had at the time. I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows again just to remedy this).
5. Do you have Aura for Graphics Cards installed also. (Please uninstall)
No, only Aura for the motherboard (1.07.66)
6. Windows Edition, Version, and OS build.
Windows 10 Pro 1903
7. If the same issue was present in the previous version(s).
This particular issue was not present in previous versions (except for the additional issue of Aura freezing, mentioned in more detail below; this occurred in 1.07.35 and 1.07.66 after installing Windows 1903). A different issue was present in older versions of Aura and LiveDash, prior to 1.07.35 and 1.05.02 respectively)
8. State clearly the issue(s) you are experiencing.
I have a similar issue after installing Aura Sync 1.07.66 and LiveDash 1.05.03. I uninstalled both, installed Aura, then LiveDash, and I get the layout with missing parameters as shown in my included screen shot. I tried an experiment where I reinstalled both then installed LiveDash first; it looked and ran normally until I installed Aura, then the faulty layout showed up again. I previously had Aura 1.07.35 and LiveDash 1.05.02 installed, but before that I was running older versions that had problems working together: I couldn't make any changes in LiveDash, unless Aura was uninstalled. Then, when I would make changes, then reinstall Aura, the previous settings would take over. This current situation is different in that I can make changes in LiveDash, but similar in that the problem only persists when Aura is installed.

Speaking of Aura, there is another little quirk which may or may not be related, and I noticed it while running the previous version (1.07.35), and see it again after running the current version (1.07.66). After opening the software to make changes, it will freeze. The lights will still work, but the GUI just hangs and is totally unresponsive; I have to kill it in Task Manager. I noticed this behavior after installing Windows 10 1903...

I wanted to add that I tried to submit this post under another thread entitled LIVEDASH ISSUE AFTER UPDATE FIRMWARE RYUO, but I kept getting messages saying "access denied", although I was logged in...

For me it is the lighting service that seems to be holding things back. I restart the machine and lighting service loads and runs but doesn't initialize the lights. I then have to restart the lighting service and everything kicks in and works. However when I run a directx game the lighting service crashes and stops.

One thing I noticed.. Old Livedash programs work better then the new livedash programs. when I replaced my livedash with an older version it fires right up the second the lighting service is restarted and doesn't take an additional 1 minute to initialize after the lighting service restart like the new versions do. Aura has been aura no matter which version I use. it's all dependent on the lighting service and only after it has been restarted and initialized the aura lighting channel.

My old machine maximus IX Apex with ryuo 240 not one issue. The monitors even start immediately on the Ryuo the second it starts loading into window. no load time nothing just bam it's running.

What happen between that machine and this new machine Maximus XI Apex.
InWin 909 Silver RGB build
i9-10900k
ROG Maximus XII Apex
ROG Matrix 2080 ti
Gskill Trident Royal 4400 16g

Everything overclocked and love it.
ROG Awesomeness !!!!

There is some issues with Black Ops 4 on launching, the game is freezing on the introduction, uninstalling Aura (which is not working in my case, I tried everything) resolve the problem...

Can't wait a working version of Aura!

In response to my original post (#219), I believe I have found a solution. My issue was a bit different than others, but to quickly recap: Aura appeared to interfere with LiveDash in that the LiveDash GUI would not show all available parameters, and wouldn't allow me to make changes; I could still make changes in the lighting through Aura. My workaround, which I had to use again today after installing the newest Aura (1.07.71), is this:

  • Go into the install folder for Aura (may be called "Lighting Control")--not in Programs, but the downloaded folder--and go into the Lighting Service folder.
  • Double click the Lighting Service setup file (*.exe) to uninstall.
  • Go into the LiveDash install folder and find its Lighting Service folder.
  • Double click the Lighting Service executable to install.

So basically, uninstalling the Lighting Service app from Aura and reinstalling it from LiveDash allowed me to see all available parameters in LiveDash and make changes. As for the other issue of the Aura GUI freezing after clicking a few items, that's still happening, even after installing 1.07.71 ...

My Aura ran well for a while and now it wont start and my RAM and M/B is stuck at rainbow. I went through many pages of this forum but I didnt see an official published fix from Asus. So is there a solution?

1. The BIOS/firmware version for your hardware.
Latest Asus Aura And Bios At 5220 On Rog x370-f
2. The AURA SYNC products you own and any other 3rd-party lighting software.
Gtx1080 Rog Advanced edition, G skill Trident z, ROG x370-f Gaming, Adata Xpg NVME,AMD Wraith Prism Cooler(the square one), DeepCool Rgb strips Asus Aura Compatible (Razer Synapse 3 but it made not difference without it)
3. If a power cycle has made any difference. (Shutdown, power off, unplug power cable for a minute)
No.
4. If you have tried reinstalling Aura or Windows already.
Both Million Times.
5. Do you have Aura for Graphics Cards installed also. (Please uninstall)
No.
6. Windows Edition, Version, and OS build.
Windows 10 Pro x64 1909
7. If the same issue was present in the previous version(s).
Nope
8. State clearly the issue(s) you are experiencing.
So the main issue with the aura and lighting is that every Effect is stuttering the only one that works is color cycle(which sucks cause you cant edit speed colors etc)
Second issue Wraith Prism Cooler Ring Not working sometimes it randomly starts and color cycles randomly or it doesnt open at all(i want to mention that its not on the devices on aura list so maybe its not implented on the build?)
And the third issue is that Battleeye closes the aura instantly when opening a game with it Rainbow Six etc (so maybe contact battleeye and tell them to add it on whitelist?)
thats it simple issues that many have on the forum and still there is no fix or new update on the program!
Please Include a screenshot of the Aura UI, and any other pictures if applicable.
For some reason i cant upload videos or photos on the thread so for more info contact me to provide you with a video of the issue
