Our test system without iCUE installed - 2 to 3% CPU usage.

To better understand which issues you are currently experiencing with the latest release, I will be collecting your feedback from this thread to let the team know. Thanks!
If you are not on the latest version, update to 1.07.22 to make debugging faster, please remember to mention:
1. The BIOS/firmware version for your hardware.
2. The AURA SYNC products you own and any other 3rd-party lighting software.
3. If a power cycle has made any difference. (Shutdown, power off, unplug power cable for a minute)
4. If you have tried reinstalling Aura or Windows already.
5. OS build/version.
6. If the issue was present in the previous version(s).
Please Include a screenshot of the Aura UI, and any other pictures if applicable.
Download 1.07.22 here:
https://www.asus.com/campaign/aura/au/download.html
If you experienced installation issues previously, please follow the procedure below:
- Make sure you have updated the firmware for your keyboard & mouse using Armoury.
- Right-click on Setup (not AsusSetup), then Run as administrator to uninstall the old version and remove all cached data.
- Reboot PC.
- Right-click on Setup, Run as administrator to install 1.07.22 Beta.
- Reboot PC.
- Right-click on the Aura shortcut icon, Run as administrator to open the Aura application.
- If devices are not showing in the Aura UI, hit the refresh icon.

Hi,
I have issue with Aura Lightning service.
I have issue that all games are locked at 139FPS. Only way to get higher is to disable Vsync but tearing is horrible then.
Monitor is ASUS PG279Q and GPU is ASUS STRIX GTX 1080Ti. I do use MSI Afterburner to overclock GPU and RTSS (Riva Tuner Statistic Server) to show data in OSD.
I'n not using any limiters or what so ever and Nvidia control panel is at it's default settings; G-sync set to "Enable G-sync for windowed and full screen mode", Vsync is on at the 3D settings, monitor technology is set to G-sync and preferred refresh rate is set to highest available.
I've been using these settings since I got the monitor and everything worked fine at 144fps until this autumn. I can't tell excactly when this lockdown happened.
I've tried to fix this by testing older drivers starting from 397.93 and using DDU when uninstalling old drivers but no go.
I'm always using DDU to remove old drivers before installing new one.
Interesting part here is that after a fresh install of new drivers the FPS is where it should be, at 144. When I do a boot it all comes back and FPS is again stuck at 139.
Yesterday I did flash my bios and after that flash when I booted my computer the FPS reading was 144 again but after a shut down and then put PC back on the reading is back at 139.
I've used CCleaner to clean registry and everything unnecessary trash from PC.
PC is working fine except this.
I have latest 1809 Windows 10 build and all other drivers are up to date.
CPU is 8700K and motherboard is Asus Z370-F with latest bios.
Finally after few days with nvidia personal support I've managed to solve the issue. It was caused by Aura Lightning service.
I have this whole conversation with nvidia support guy. Do you want me to send it to you?

Are you saying that when Aura Lighting service is running in the background, refresh rate changes to 139Hz, and then back to 144Hz if you end the task?
Screenshots possible to compare the 2?

Yes, exactly.
This was already confimerd during weekend gaming sessions. I tried several different startup settings with and without Asus Aura lightning service, re-installing nvidia drivers with various versions, disabled all background programs which are not crucial in order to keep PC running etc, etc...
This was quite surprise for me too, I've never heard anything like this before.
At the moment I have Asus Aura lightning service disabled and I can play all games with FPS locked to 144 using default Nvidia Control Panel settings.
I'll link screenshots later when I get back to home from work.

CPU usage sometimes spikes close to 15% causing massive slow downs when gaming. This always happened since I bought the board. But in previous versions it would only happen once in a while and I would simply end task the lighting service and restart aura sync. But with the latest two versions the problem has become way more severe. Happens way too often now. It is now guaranteed to happen almost all the time meaning Every single time I game. Not only that....but ending lighting service and restarting aura sync no longer solves the issue. Not even a reboot. It happens so often now that I have to totally disable aura sync in the bios 😞

What is your average for CPU usage %? (Short pikes are normal especially when you apply new effects)
Regarding massive slow downs when gaming, what are your system specs?
Is the issue resolved completely when you disable Aura from the UEFI?
Are you on the latest version of UEFI BIOS?
Have you tried a power cycle? (unplug at the wall for a minute).
Did you tried to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows?
