Asus g750 gpu not responding?

Hey all,

I have had my ASUS G750JS-RS71 for a couple of weeks and so far i'm impressed. I'm just not sure why the ASUS GPU TWEAK is non-responsive. I'm not gaming and as of yet and have so far used my computer for video editing. I have my GPU preference set to the NVIDIA 870 graphics card, but the the GPU TWEAK says: NVIDIA OPTIMUS enabled: currently running on intel GPU? Is this correct assuming the GPU responds to gaming only? I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest GPU TWEAK version along with updating my NVIDA drivers. Still the same. I have posted to a previous thread asking a similar question with minimal reply. I would appreciate any and all productive feedback.

Thanx

hello LEGIN27

I think I remember you asking this before and I answered the same.

In Nvidia control panel select Nvidia processor and click apply. Currently running on intel GPU should change.

Does this not help?

It could also be using the intel gpu as a power saving feature. Is your 860m shown there when you play a game?

Whats up Nate152, Yeah I asked prior about this issue and what you had suggested in a previous thread and replying to another forum member I had already done. Then I pmed you and took your advice to create thread. No change so far and I have yet to speak with ASUS tech support about this. I just don't want to make the mistake of assuming the ASUS GPU TWEAK is supposed to work regardless of if your playing a game. The BIOS offers no visible or obvious resolve to this issue, and again maybe I'm assuming the function of this program. The pic in my post I borrowed from the last thread about this topic (I have the G750JS having the same issue) and the forum member who started the last thread concluded that what was suggested was a fix, I asked and wanted to know exactly what was done if so. Thanx for the feedback so far and I'll keep researching this issue for an answer.

Nvidia Optimus has so many issues, it's more annoying than helpful, for short it's bull****.
Do you have an option in your bios settings to disable Nvidia Optimus?
Probably there's an option in Nvidia Control Panel as @Nate152 mentioned.
