Asus Armoury Crate's Fan Control & Fan Xpert

RevGAM
Level 7

I have the TUF H670 Pro Wifi D4. I use custom fan settings in BIOS because I do testing. I do NOT want software taking control without permission. I especially do NOT want software that resists my efforts to disable it! My computer = my choice on what runs and what doesn't!

Anus Motherboard Fan Control (AMFC) runs whether I want it to or not, over-riding my BIOS settings and hiding itself so that it is difficult for me to turn it off. I have to either go into Services or edit the Registry to turn it off, although it still tries to run (and is denied) if I edit the Registry.

Every time I run Anus Armoury Crate (AAC), it wants special access so that it can re-enable the fan control and AAC will close if I refuse to grant it. If I grant access, AAC re-enables it even if I turn it off in Startups, Services or the registry. I have turned off all fan controls within AAC, yet it still runs. WTF?!?!?! Initially, I could disable it in startups, but now it isn't listed there, and I must disable it in Services or edit the registry to prevent it from running.

Even when I uninstalled AAC, the fan controller remained! That is what some people would call malicious persistence.

ACTIVATING THE FAN CONTROLLER SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED TO USE AAC, NOR SHOULD IT RUN WHEN IT'S BEEN TURNED OFF OR REMAIN AFTER AAC IS UNINSTALLED!!!!

Adding insult to injury, if I use Anus Fan Xpert (AFC) then the fan controls in AAC cease to be usable!

I have uninstalled AAC, and even did a fresh install of Windows 11. AAC is clearly the PROBLEM.

This is completely unacceptable!

On a side note, when I try to run AAC it now takes an extended amount of time before it opens. In fact, after updating a module and delaying restart, I can no longer access Fan Xpert to make sure its controls haven't been turned on somehow.

Short of deleting AAC entirely and hoping that rids my computer of the damned AMFC, what other options (aside the above-mentioned) are there?
