Armoury Crate not recognizing devices and unable to control RGB

Hi,

Just upgraded to an AMD Ryzen 3700X on a Crosshair VIII WiFi mobo.

Yesterday RGB and armoury crate worked fine.

Had to update BIOS and some general drivers and Armoury crate no longer recognizes my motherboard (this sercice only works with ROG devices or something along those lines) and when I click the AURA button I get the message ''connect at least one aura sync compatible device'') which I have:

-RAM
-mobo
-Thermaltake fans and RGB strips on a Thermaltake Aura Sync hub which worked yesterday just fine

-EKWB velocity rgb waterblock
-Bitspower Aura sync compatible flow indicator

all of these are eiter stuck on red or rainbow unicorn barf.

What is causing this? Have already tried reinstalling, clearing CMOS, safe boot reinstall, CCleaner registry cleaner, manual deletion of remnants I could find, REVOuninstaller,.... nothing works.

Any ideas?

Have also tried installing only AURA SYNC but that doesnt even start saying that the auraservice is not running even though I followed all the guides I could find online for installing that program.

Why does none of this work??????

Hi all. I had the same problem with Armoury Crate not recognizing devices and unable to control RGB. I tried all of the fixes above and nothing worked. I read somewhere that you should just to turn off the power supply and unplug it. Then press the on button, wait for a bit and plug it back in and start it up. Well it worked, it recognized my my motherboard and I was back in business. Hope this helps.

GreyWolfCalgary, in my reality, you are todays winner! Your advice did fix my issue & I once again have full control of connected devices via Armoury Crate. Not sure why I didn't think of this earlier? I was going to change a few fans & I would have been back in action after but I might not had put 2 & 2 together. You deserve more rep! Thank You!!

I would just like to chime in that this is what did it for me.

On another note: For some reason, and I don't know if it'll show this way on others, Amoury crate kept trying to detect my motherboard as a TUF gaming model up until I did the above fix. I've got a plain old x470-Pro Prime that is neither ROG nor TUF, so no idea how it came to that conclusion.

Weeks and weeks I've been grudgingly waiting for ASUS to fix this, they haven't. Got lucky and saw this, tried it and BAM.....can't say it enough thank you GreyWoldCalgary!!! omg

Holy cr@p... I wish I would have thought about doing this sooner. That totally did the trick for my Asus Z-390E Motheraord! Thank you so much for taking the time to put your input on this!

I updated to the latest BIOS, I ran through all the usual and typical troubleshooting steps that we ASUS uses have with Aura/ArmoryCrate multiple times. I wish I would have done this sooner saving me 1 1/2 hours of troublshooting.

All I did was shutdown my computer, turned off the power button on the PSU, unplugged the PSU, held the power button on my case for 10 seconds, went to the kitchen to pour myself a beer, came back plugged the pc back in flipped the PSU switch, pressed the power button and walla beautiful RGB was back and I had a celibritory beer already in my hands.

Thanks again!

Man this software sucks...

Thaaaaaaaaaank you! Finally i soolved that. I can after a year control my LEDS again...

Next Problem: Now in armoury crate under updates i can not update the device kit for my motherboard...

So with updates to the softwares its FUBAR'd my RGBs on both ASUS 1070 Strix OC's and my Strix LC 120.

I managed to get Aura Sync working after uninstalling everything ASUS (Had AI Suit 2 installed now lost that) and still having issues with Armory Crate seeing the LC 120.

I also am having update issues within Armory Crate, mainly with the LC HAL Update...

The sooner they get this all into ICUE the better!

One day, Armoury Crate just stopped controlling the RGB lighting on my Z490 board and RAM. The devices were no longer present in the Armoury Crate software. I switched off the power to my PSU for a few minutes, and ... Voila!! Everything started working again. Props to Grey Wolf for discovering this simple fix.

I got an ROG Strix G513QM. The RGB just stopped working. I tried restarting, shut down then power on, and even disconnecting the RGB through armory crate. Nothing worked. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I wish someday Asus RGB Software works as expected.
