AISuite fails to start after Windows update KB4056892 (Intel vulnerability patch)

PerpetualCycle
Level 13
It fails to start with "The Sever Threw an Exception" Error box.

The services and AISuite executable appears to be actually running, but the AISuite GUI does not start.

Please fix Asus (should have been on top of this I would think).

Well, just installed this new KB4056892 automatically as usual on my PC and $*@&"# GRRRR, AI Suite stops to work and ASUSGPUFanServiceEx throws an exception. Great !
INothing new for you. Maybe the availibility of this KB has been delayed for my country. So it has been downloaded today on my poor PC.
To say I'm deeply disapointed to notice another issue in Asus softwares.
I was happy to see GPU Tweak II issue was finally solved and now this one.

I've uninstalled this KB, uninstalled AI Suite II 2.01.01 then installed AI Suite II 20401 (thanks agent_x007 for the link).
Then installed KB4056892 and KB4073290. I can confirm all works fine now on my P8Z77-V Pro with AI Suite II and GPU Tweak 1591 (GPU Tweak 1601 seems to be less stable on my PC).

Now I'm wondering if installing this KB4073290 on an Intel CPU MB is a good idea ? Could it annihilate the KB4056892 security fix ?

What is your opinion ?

Hi guys, im using a maximus IV impact and wanted to report that the AI suite meant for the Maximus Code X (latest version) works fine.

Basically my dumb logic/luck was to look for the latest model of the same designation, download its version if AI suite , uninstall the previous faulty one and rerun the config.

Hope this helps!

(Edit: spelling errors)

Hey Guys,
i also have a Z77 Plattform, and after the last windows update KB4073290 no Ai Suite II can be installed. I only get the message "no drivers file"
I try all versions, from old the newest...Ai Suite Cleaner, Save Mode, Nothing will Help.
Have a Maximus V Formula. Pay 300€ 2012 and the support wasnt so long 😞

Problem seems the same like from user "wunjox"

AI Suite II 2.04.01 + KB4073290 = Fan Xpert+ works again on my P9X79 Pro M.2 NVMe modded board 🙂

BTW
Do you know how to force X79 board to run 8x DDR3-2400?
I have 64GB DDR3-2400 all the same CL10-12-12-31 but can use only 4-sticks of DDR3 together...

Any 4 x stick = OK
16GB + 8GB + 8GB = working but unstable (AIDA64 Memtest = crash)
32GB + 16GB = W
indows crashes after a few seconds

I have:

Corsair 32GB Kit 4 x 8GB (
CMZ32GX3M4A2400C10 Dual/Quad Channel
Corsair 16GB Kit 4 x 4GB (
CMZ16GX3M2A2400C10) Dual Channel but can work as Quad Channel
2 x Corsair 8GB Kit 2x 4GB (CMZ8GX3M2A2400C10) Dual Channel but can work as Quad Channel

32GB installed and another 32GB lies on the desk 😕

To anyone subscribed here looking for a workaround for AI Suite 2 fanxpert control, try this: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?99454-Ai-Suite-2-fan-control-workaround

I updated to the latest version, now the Windows patch works with it, one thing I noticed is with the new version AISuite, you only get the main pack not the others, I downloaded the new one, then installed all of the others from the older version!

If you can NOT install AI Suite II after KB4056892 & KB4073290.
- try to uninstall both from Programs (Control Panel), install AI Suite II - finally updates.

Now, I can't see the KB4056892 on the updates list anymore (only KB4073290, KB4058702, KB4058043).

1. Install some previous Windows 10 build like Creators Update 1703
2. Install Asus AI Suite
3. Update the system
4. Create backup (for the future)

Sorry, I do not have any other ideas.
