AISuite fails to start after Windows update KB4056892 (Intel vulnerability patch)

PerpetualCycle
Level 13
It fails to start with "The Sever Threw an Exception" Error box.

The services and AISuite executable appears to be actually running, but the AISuite GUI does not start.

Please fix Asus (should have been on top of this I would think).

Trying to figure out which would be more likely. Winning the lottery, getting struck by lightning twice in the same day, or ASUS fixing AI Suite II?

so far winning the lottery after being struck twice seems likely

Hey, I am on a Sabertooth Z170 Mark I and I got AISuite 3 v1.30 working normally.

I had the same problems as all of you after windows update. What I did was update the BIOS to the just released version 3703, Windows 10 x64 to the "Creators Fall Update", updated Intel's ME Driver with Intel's ME Update tool, removed AISuite 3 with Asus Removal tool and did a clean install of AI Suite 3 v1.30. And now everything is working like it it did before the Windows patch. Fans, pump, profiles, etc . Everything works again.

The only thing that isnt working at all is TUF Detective. It crashes on Windows startup 8 out of 10 times or if it doesnt crash my devices cant connect to it. Hope they fix it soon so i can have POST reads and check voltages and temps in real time on my tablet or phone.

The other thing is now, since the BIOS CPU microcode update, my stable OC doesn't work at all. To reach 4,5 ghz on an i7 6700K and 32GB of DDR4 3000 I have to give it more voltage. I had 4,5 ghz at 1,30v before all this Intel scandal with temp peaks of 70-72º on 20-25º ambient temps, now I have to give it 1,35v to reach 4,5 ghz stable and temps peaks are 10º higher. It reaches 80-82º peaks cooled by a custom loop with a 360 rad just for the cpu (all EKWB parts)... I fear the Spanish 30-40º summer days badly. I'll probably have to delid the CPU or lower my OC a lot.
It sucks. I reached 4,6ghz with those voltages and temps before and I played it conservative with a more modest 4,5 ghz OC now il have to settle to 4,4 ghz or 4,3 ghz... Almost stock.

Cheers everyone and please ASUS fix TUF Detective, thanks.

I too had issues with AI Suite II giving constant RPC errors. I de-installed KB 4056891 (which is the same as KB4056892 but for Build 1703 Creators Update) and then AI Suite II started working again.

I switched off updates but saw using the Windows Update Mini Tool that Microsoft had released an updated Cumulative Update KB4057144 with many of the issues / problems fixed. I installed it manually and my original AI Suite II is working fine.

If this is the case, you won't have to rely on ASUS providing an update to AI Suite II.

I realise that my system or release level might be slightly different to you guys as I don't have the Fall Update installed and I only just started my overclocking / cooling journey but I registered specially to bring it to your attention.

Hope that helps.

No need to install new version of AI suite 3, the latest update of "windows 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64 Systems (KB4057142)" solves the boot problem and my AI Suite 3 works again without problem.

I can confirm, Rampage IV Formula, after Update kb4073290 (for Build 1709, the Update above is for build 1703 / 1706), no Error at start, AI-Suite II works again. (Did nothing ..never uninstalled, never reinstalled)

What is this update kb4073290 for 1709 ? Im with 1709 build and the windows don't downloading anything else ? So from where I can find kb4073290 ? So, it is working on X79 ?

EDIT:
Oook, nice. KB4073290 working for my Sabertooth X79 + AI Suite II ! But why this update is stand alone installer. It is for some future official Windows 10 build/update pack ?

The Update is new, some Report that it’s available in Auto Update, i guess it Takes a day or two before everyone can see it - or .. possible too, its primary for AMD Users because it fixes the Reboot Problem with AMD CPU‘s.

Im glad it’s working with Suite II, just in case ASUS really says they won‘t Patch it, this is a good WorkAround.
