AISuite fails to start after Windows update KB4056892 (Intel vulnerability patch)

PerpetualCycle
Level 13
It fails to start with "The Sever Threw an Exception" Error box.

The services and AISuite executable appears to be actually running, but the AISuite GUI does not start.

Please fix Asus (should have been on top of this I would think).

2 days later and nothing works. The beta copy just gives a error !!!

The only thing I could do is revert back to saved point and lock out Update. I hope Asus can come up with a answer that works.

MAYBE BEFORE ALL OF US GET HACKED THRU THE INTEL MELTDOWN .. 🙂

ARE YOU LISTENING ASUS

Agreed the Beta is utterly useless on my Z97 Sabertooth MK1 one fan tells me I need a ASUS Fan Extension Card?? WTF?? Regardless I can't tie any fans to any sensors so defeats the whole purpose...Not too mention the whole programs hangs after you make any adjustments(the ones that don't do anything...)
Right now all I can do is turn my fans(all of them)all the way up or all the way down...USELESS!!!

Same issue, I am going to have to uninstall this update, and change it to manual, and Intel Needs to fix the issue with their hardware Without slowing my system at all...

I am starting to regret trusting Intel, and they need to supply me with a CPU that doesn't have these vulnurbility, or cause issues with anything I am trying to do the last day since the update i've ran into issues with my system cuasing slight video stutters and different things wasn't doing before this update now I know why.

It's not Intel, it's Microsoft. It has been 5 days now waiting without any info. From the support of Asus said to me to restart my bios with FreeCrash 3. Did somebody try this ? Again, I have Sabertooth X79 + KB4056892 = crashing AI Suite II...

You have to uninstall the last Microsoft update and wait for a patch or another windows update next month.... and all work fine.... simple

I don't see anything simple here. Why next month ?

Try to open AISuite and nothing happens. Started after Window 10 update. Anyone have any idea when this will be fixed? Or a program that will allow me to set fan speeds?

You can easily set fan speed in the bios. The only reason I use fanxpert is that I can't set speeds lower than 60%, unless I use fanxpert. Also, I can't just manually assign a fixed speed on the fly like I can with fanxpert (I prefer to use 40% on desktop, 60% when gaming).

BTW, fanxpert/AIsuite must somehow have low level access to the bios to control the fans like it does, I think. That's maybe why it's been hit by this latest security update, since the update addresses virtualization, which is also a low level embedded bios related thing
