Your other option is to open 'Windows Task Scheduler' and navigate to the Task Scheduler Library' section and then the 'Asus' menu item
Locate 'Asus DipAwayMode' and highlight or select it and then click 'Disable'.
Put your PC into the desired power mode via Windows and then restart Windows to confirm, voila!
Now I'm set to 'High Performance', and now it stays there without flicking back to 'Balanced' every restart / reboot or boot up.
(For me, It can stay disabled in my Task Scheduler until Asus fix it properly without adding more glitches)
Hope this helps 🙂

See below about Power Plans always defaulting to 'Balanced' inside Windows 10, this is a repost.
Also... worth noting that the AiSuite III version 3 upwards may understate your CPU temperature,
Therefore SMART fan control may be running the CPU fan under the RPMs actually required...
55 degrees Celsius in AiSuite could actually be as high as 65 degrees Celsius...
Use a 3rd party application like CPU-Z or any system monitoring tool like Corsair Link to confirm the temperature discrepancy.
