On my PRIME Z370-A motherboard page, though it also has the latest version of AURA Sync listed and that's a beta, so can't tell if this is final or not.

The lastest version for my ROG STRIX X299-XE only has 3.00.13 available this sucks. Just uninstalled, restarted, ran cleaner, restarted and about to re-install to see if that works, some guy said it did on the previous page.

Hi folks,

I've been monitoring this thread on and off ever since a Windows 10 Update earlier in the year broke some of the AI Suite III for my TUF Sabertooth Z87 and I stumbled upon the beta 3.00.10 download.

One of the functions I made use of was the USB Charger+ which allowed me to fast charge my iPad from within AI Suite by effectively disconnecting it from the USB data port and turning the port into a 2A charging socket. Although the provided beta didn't come with its own version of USB Charger+ it was possible to add the folder of an earlier version (1.03.07 from the Windows 8 archive) to the beta installer and achieve a working installation.

This function has recently stopped working, with the USB Charger+ page of AI Suite reporting "Device Not Found". At first I thought this was because I recently upgraded my GPU and may have moved a bunch of USB cables around, but have since confirmed that everything is connected as before and it's more likely another recent Windows Update that has killed it. A couple of posts on this thread would seem to back that up.

I've looked for a more recent version of either AI Suite III or a compatible USB Charger+ but can find nothing. Looking at its more recent releases, USB Charger+ now seems to have become a standalone app for specific, mostly notebook, chipsets rather than a part of AI Suite. Obviously none of them is compatible with my rather ancient motherboard.

The bulk of the AI Suite still works, especially the all-important DIP5 fan controls, and USB Charger+ 1.03.07 can still be set so that the iPad charges when the PC is asleep. But the ability to charge the iPad while the computer is on seems to have gone forever.

I just have a couple of simple questions before I accept this loss and move on:

  • Is there ever likely to be a non-beta 3.00.10 or above of AI Suite III that's compatible with my Z87, or is that motherboard far too legacy to expect further support?

  • Is there a non-standalone version of USB Charger+ more recent than 1.03.07 that might be compatible with my version of AI Suite?

Thanks.

I have not read all of this thread so sorry if someone has pointed out this issue before.
When I built my pc around 18 months ago I tried AIsuite but had a lot of issues with it so uninstalled it and manually overclocked my cpu, which has worked out fine but I have been curious about if the newer version might be a better experience this time round so I installed it and ran the 5 way optimisation and was amazed that it managed a 4.8 oc on my 6700k when I could only seem to get 4.7 stable manually.
On testing for stability with the ai suite oc I noticed that it had bumped my v-core to 1.54 v this seems way way to high ? I was under the impression this software is easy mode overclocking, especially for people who might not want to figure out how to do it themselves in bios, but this voltage will surely cause damage to the cpu if anyone didnt know better and left it with a potentially damaging overclock ?

My spec is Maximus formula IX , 6700k, running bios 1301

SEE EDIT BELOW Even the newest versions and patches of AI seem to be unstable for most users ON HERE. I had reported sucess initially with the Spectre / Meltdown fix but later resorted to a full unininstall and using UEFI for fan control. ~100 pages here so not everybody are reporting problens on this site considering the amount of ASUS MB's out there. I have followed this thread from begining to end. The consensis here is if you are having problems with it, don't expect a fix and use BIOS adjustments instead.

EDIT: Just checked ASUS for MB updates as I do daily after reading on here. New AI III version just put up today Version 3.00.31 for my MOBO. Perhaps all hope is not lost. See if it's available for your system.

Nah, I just checked just for the sake of it - no updates for AI Suite or "Dual dumps processor" utility....

My solution: I run nothing but Aura Sync in my PC when it comes to Asus Software and this is because I have to in order to control the lights.
