Asus Z87 Sabertooth. Beta does not detect all assistant fans(error message is "ASUS FAN EXTENSION CARD is required to enable these items"). Also there is no way to set input source of temperature for fan, in the old version you could tie it to multiple temp. sensors with percentage dependencies. So I guess all fans use CPU temp. for now.

Yes, it only uses CPU temp which makes the assist fans pretty much useless unless you set their temperature thresholds much lower. On my ST Z97

Mark I the assistfan that helps lower vcore temps never increases because it is only linked to the CPU temp. This needs to be fixed to make AIS III useful.

Hi guys,

Previously mentioned that ASUS Beta works more or less fine with my Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2, and now updated my GTX 1080 TI to the latest Nvidia Driver (also addressing the Meltdown & Spectre security issue apparently), and all is still good, nothing broken, the ASUS beta still running.

Anyone received a BIOS update for their motherboard? Still nothing for mine and wonder if they will ever release an update.*

No, but I check it every day. Intel said they would have patches for more than 90% of their CPUs by this week and that they were working with manufactures, ASUS included, to make sure it gets done. So far, nothing as showed up but it's only Tuesday.

Fan speed does not change depending on the VRM temperature.
In previous versions it was also this problem.

Mobo: Prime X299 Deluxe

I have seen this as well, but there is a delay and the fan eventually catches up in a few minutes.

Fan speed is never changed. They are always at the lowest speed.
But if I control the fan speed in the bios and set VRM, everything works fine.

It seems to be working fine, though the main fan control selection from the popup controls crashed when trying to change fan profiles.

Me too on x299A, installed the beta suite as an update. I ran fan expert as I could see the software showed my previous fan positions correctly.
I can change the fan mode in the main gui, but not on the minibar which crashes and disappears.
This is my first experience with this software and any overclocking. AIsuite is not for a novice as they claim.
Installing the beta did remove the 30% oc (overkill for me with temps and wanting to use the machine for rendering
software more than anything else)
I was so uncertain of what it was doing in running the 5-way optimize and how to back it down from the high it was on. what would happen if I re-ran
it, etc. It needs more documentation. Like I say I have never overclocked before, but have been building my own computers since the super-socket 7
days.

The minibar widget also crashes on my pc as well when trying to change fan profiles. I can change them from the main gui, and they change quickly as well. The AsPowerBar.exe just stops working when I select a profile, but I can relaunch it.
-EDIT: I am on Maximus VIII Ranger Z170.

Having same issue with selecting profiles from the AS Power Bar application throws an "index < count() error on line 1700 of sensor.cpp" or something similar. Also having a problem with PE Updater throwing a "cannot access AsIO.sys!! (2)" error.

Anyone have any solution for either of those?

System: ASUS Prime Z370-A, 8700k, GTX1080 in custom water loop with 0606 Bios update installed and Windows Update installed.

The beta version of AI III is working very well on X399 Prime A - in fact it's an improvement, the mini bar doesn't crash, and fans are less eratic after calibration.

*Edit* - New nVidia driver just released 390.65 breaks AI Suite 3 Beta - requires re-installation to resume normal function.

And here I am with AI Suite II with the same issue. NVIDIA latest driver kills AI Suite compatibility. Reinstalling AI Suite makes the computer unbootable (stuck at bluescreen with graphic block artifacts a la faulty GPU symptoms). Board not compatible with III so guess I'm sorry out of luck with the older AI Suite II. Might as well add this to the list of bugs that AI Suite II remains stuck with.

Please add in the source menue of Fan Xpert the GPU temperature of other manufactures cards.

Bought the wonderful and expensive Maximus X Hero and I cannot use the GPU temperature of my MSI GTX1080 to control the case fans? 🙂
