So I'm trying to update my drivers in Armoury crate but I just get this message: "Sorry, we cannot finish the installation. please restart the system and retry. (error code: 238)" Can anybody help?

WORKING!
So after opening Armoury Crate and checking for updates and the clicking install all and having the update fail I did the following.
I followed some of the instructions placed earlier. I went into Program Files/Asus/RLSDownload/FanXpert and followed the folder until I got to where the SDKsetup was. (You will see an unextracted folder at some point through the file path to get to the sdksetup file, DO NOT touch it.) I ran the sdksetup and then my computer prompted me to restart so I did. Once back in windows I ran the setup file in that same folder as the sdksetup file. (It almost appears as if it does nothing). After that I deleted the FanXpert folder from the RLSDownload folder.
I then went to Armoury crate and checked for updates. That cleared FanXpert from the update list. It even shows that the plug-in was updated as of today's date. I was then able to access FanXpert for the first time and run the autotune option.
After a restart everything still shows to be in order.
Hope this helps some. I have an ASUS TUF Gaming Z690 Plus WiFi D4 MOBO with the latest firmware on a clean install of Windows 11 Pro for reference.

I had some problems, it did not seem to work but when you do the SDKsetup.exe, restart. setup.exe, delete the folder and you open AC it will still tell you to update the SDK, DONT DO IT, don't click that or you will be back to square 1 and have to do everything again.
Just press CHECK FOR UPDATE after you did all the setups and deleted the folder.

Thank you so much for posting this. Completely fixed the issue... I am not one to whine about companies that I like, but ASUS really should have been able to resolve the problem. Reports of it are all over the place. Anyway, thanks again!

Hello, I already did that, I already ran the SDKsetup.exe and it installs and resets automatically, then I entered the folder again and ran the setup.exe and it seems that it doesn't install anything, but you can see a window opening and closing quickly. .. then I deleted everything that was inside the folder \LSDownload\*.* then I reset it, I entered Windows and opened the AC when I clicked on the FanXpert icon it already enters the screen with the update request, I click on update and everything again, it it tries and then it gives error 238. Yes, I also have a clean format of Windows 11 Pro with all drivers updated, penultimate Bios 2204 (the best and most stable to date) with the latest Firmware ME Intel V16.1.27.2176 (ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO \ i9-12900K \ AIO RYUJIN II 360 \ RTX ROG STRIX GAMING 3090 24GB \ CORSAIR 64GB). I formatted it on 04.16.2023 and everything was perfect, I formatted it again on 05.03.2023, I left Windows and Drivers installed perfect, I left this computer stopped and yesterday I resumed the installations I installed the AC as I did the other time and I have this error 238... the only thing I did differently was to uninstall some Windows applications that are allowed by Windows through the context menu such as: Alarms and Clock, Climate, Tips, Email and Calendar, Movies and TV, Feedback Hub, Maps, Microsoft News, Self-adhesive notes , News, Power Automate, Solitaire & Casual Games, Xbox, Xbox Live and Xbox Game Bar (Windows doesn't allow uninstalling from the context menu so I left it). That's what I did differently, I can't believe that's it, but I'm decided at this point to do a new Formatting, everything the same, but without removing any of the applications mentioned above and see if this time it will work or not. Discouraged and tired, but onward! As soon as I find a better AIO than this RYUJIN II 360 AIO (yes it's beautiful and nice to see the information on the screen), I'll change it, remove it so I'll never use this Armory Crate again. If you have indications of a superior, efficient AIO that doesn't use AC or iCube, let me know?! Thank you all and I'll start formatting again....😔

Ok, so I think I may know why it isn't working for you. Once you go through the manual install, when you are back into Aurmory Crate, you click on check for updates. Not update all. Once that FanXpert folder is deleted from the RLSDownload folder you then click for check for updates. Do not click Update or Update all. Then after the program checks for updates it should clear the FanXpert Update from the list. Then you can go to FanXpert in the program and it should work.

I didn't go back into update at all in nearly every attempt, just clicking into fan xpert started a loop, can't load, refresh loop. I had gone back in and i showed no updates, but that after i found AC was completely useless when trying to open Fan Xpert.
After removing AC, I'm now seeing more data in HWMonitor, as well as better performance in Prime95 testing. far fewer running tasks, less memory usage.. I still need to get BIOS Q-Fan to be a bit more aggressive on CPU fan. I went ahead and moved to AURA Sync standalone and it's working. I'm done with AC and probably ASUS.
