These steps worked for me.
After a reboot still ok.
👍🏻
So this workaround is the best option for now, but Asus needs to fix this buggy software.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! LOVE YOU MAN!!! IT WORKED!!! 🤗

To know the time of your message: I was in the BIOS changing the boot to boot with the image for the new format, I received your message and I pondered “what does he mean with the Check for Updates button, I think it's the same thing Update” and I was wrong and you were right, unbelievable what you have achieved here my friend, please send me a PM I want to keep in touch with you and if possible let me send you the price of a good beer! Let's concentrate the information for others here:

SOLUTION FOR ERROR CODE 238 FANXPERT ARMOURY CRATE by LinkinForcer
1. Enter the folder C:\Program Files\ASUS\RLSDownload\FanXpert\... until you find the sdkSetup.exe file -> run it -> the installation will ask for a reset, ok -> Reset!
2. After booting Windows go to the same previous location and find the setup.exe file -> run it -> a brief window appears quickly and is gone!
3. Go back to the C:\Program Files\ASUS\RLSDownload\ folder and delete the <FanXpert> folder with everything inside it, done!
4. Open the AC -> go to the bottom left Settings icon -> go to the Update Center tab -> and click on the first top right button called “Search for Updates”, after that the AC will be looking for updates for a while and when finished FanXpert will disappear -> it's a greater joy to see it, and the best is yet to come -> you enter the menu -> Fan Xpert and FAN XPERT 4 opens as it always worked.

Yes, the credits and accolades are all yours my new friend LinkinForcer, you saved me a day or so of work as I am very methodical and perfectionist in new formatting, thank you very much, it's for people like you LinkinForcer, master MoKiChU and my big mentor Jesse I still get this ineffective @asus, how can we believe them or their support that suggest a BIOS update, uninstall everything for customers, take these people to other even worse problems, it's unbelievable that, too bad, they They need to improve a lot to be "good"!

Again LinkinForcer, my very, very, very heartfelt thanks, have a happy weekend like I'm having right now! Thank you friend!

It remains to say on which hardware this method worked, because even if it works this way it is not normal, so it is possible that it will not work with everyone! Let's wait for another definitive update that fixes these problems! Besides that error 238, there is some old hardware like GTX 1080ti Rog strix OC, which just doesn't show up in the Armory crate!

Correct, it doesn't work for everyone, none of these solutions have worked for me.

AC has given me another issue (cpu clocks locked at full speed with AC installed, 13700kf) that i will have to make a different thread for,

Asus Rog Strix Z790-F | Intel i7 13700 KF | Asus Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 TUF | Corsair Vengeance DDR5 2x16GB | Asus Rog Strix LC II 240 | Samsung 980 Pro, 1TB | MSI MPG A850G PCIe5 ATX 3.0 | Win 10 | Asus Rog Strix Scope TKL | Asus Rog Gladius II Origin

Hello @Leving_PT, I completely agree with you, what we are doing is a temporary solution, it may not work for everyone and it is not an ASUS solution! She is the one who has to sort this out immediately and efficiently! I think it is a huge lack of professionalism for them to indicate to a user "update your BIOS, use our uninstall tool, format your computer" they must have no idea that most of their customers depend on computers to work!

PS1.: About the GTX 1080Ti not being recognized by the AC, I don't know if you've tried to do that: As soon as I built this configuration, I also had big problems with the AC, one of them is that the RTX sometimes didn't appear, and the FAN XPERT 4 during 3 formattings, in just one of them, I could see what its interface was like, I reset it and never saw it again, AC just didn't work well, so I had to learn a lot of things for several months, I had a professional in advanced computing teach me guiding for all this, and the main rule is this: You never install the AC first! First, a clean format and installation of Windows is performed, without being connected to the internet, then, still disconnected from the internet, the clean, optimized, updated and exact drivers are installed for each part provided here by the master @MoKiChU. A request here to @ASUS: This is the best guy you can get to manage ASUS Drivers, please hire this guy to be part of the ASUS team with well deserved support, respect and value!!! So lastly install the NVidia Driver, then connect to the internet, update Windows until it finds nothing else to update, never use Optional Updates, then only after that install the ****** AC, then it finds all the drivers that have already been updated before, thus recognizes all ASUS products and works "fine", until you have a stupid error like this 238!

PS2.: Sorry for being a little harsh with you @ASUS, but you deserve it, the incompetence is very big lately, invest more in people, enhancements, solid, efficient programs and you can invest less in releases, baseless superficial fads and with so many problems, go back to doing the GOOD, WELL DONE, and that will be GREAT for the customers!

My luck is that I backup (Acronis) with some regularity, and I managed to revert and keep a previous version AC 5.4.10.0 dated 05-05-2023, and in that version everything is just OK, both detecting the GPU how without error 238! ...I prefer to wait a few weeks/months! 😅

Best solution thx u bro ... Love u wkwkwk

It's works, thanks

Pay attention to sdkSetup.exe and setup.exe

This SS shows my clocks at full speed will AC installed, was fine upto a few days ago.
