After the last update Armoury Crate, the CPU temperature in idle mode increased by 10 degrees! all power consumption settings and modes remain unchanged. it was 59 degrees when idle, but now it's 69
This also happens to mine. EVERYTHING gets hotter now!
I have been keeping the temperature at 50C-ish range because I'm going for the longevity of the hardware, when under load it would hit low 60C-ish which then triggered the fan to kick hard and brought it down to under 60C. All this was working well prior to this current update. But nowadays it has been so painful to see the temperature way up to 80C-ish if left alone to run without intervention.
Turning ON the computer will get it to 80C-ish but I can't do anything until Windows has finished its startup so I can force-cool it down with the Windows Power Options profile that caps the maximum processor state to 50%, which at this point is the only way I can think of to bring it down to below 60C. It is so frustrating to hear the fan whistling high to the max on startup and to finally get the monitoring-app running to see the temp reading at 80C-ish before I can intervene!
Anyone has suggestions? Or if ASUS is reading this, please fix it. Thank you.
