ROG Strix Go BT - missing settings in armory crate

TheMummy56
Level 8

Using the headset on pc via bluetooth i noticed that there are several settings/info missing on armory crate.
Particulary, there are no input/mic settings to enable/disable ai-mic noise cancelling.
There is also no information/settings on battery.

Below is a print screen of armory crate.

Any info/help resolving this issue is apreciated.

Thank you

If you have an ROG motherboard and is listed in Armoury Crate, check this.

1) On the left click the Device tab

2) Click on your motherboard

3) Click the Audio tab

4) Does it show anything about Two-Way AI Noise Cancellation?

Hello TheMummy56

The Noise Cancelling for the microphone is activated by pressing the power button.

To turn your headset on and off press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. Then, press the power button to switch between the four noise cancelling modes.

It should give you these in audible form to know which setting you're on.

1) Heavy Noise Cancelling

2) Light Noise Cancelling

3) Ambient Sound

4) Noise Cancelling off

As for battery status, the status indicator LED should light up to show that it's charging. The manual says to charge your headset with the included usb-c to usb-a cable.

Full charge: 0%-100% - 3 hours

Quick charge: 15 minutes for 5 hours of use.

Hi Nate152,

Thanks for the quick reply.
As i understand it, those are different things (print from the asus site attached).
 - The ANC (power button) blocks external sound to the ear. (tested on call (discord) all levels and doesnt seem to have any effect on the mic)
 - The ai-mic noise canceling filters out noise on the microfone.
Can you confirm that?

Regarding the battery, it would be helpful to have at least the battery %, but i understand if that is not included/supported.

I don't have this particular headset, but after looking at what you posted, you are correct, these are two different things.

I had to research and this is what I came across.

Active Noise Cancellation relies on a principle of physics called phase cancellation. Sound travels in waves, and when two sound waves with the same frequency but opposite amplitude meet, they largely cancel each other out.

ANC headphones use tiny microphones to process incoming sound and play the opposite phase of that sound through the headphone drivers. This effectively reduces perceptible noise, especially at lower frequencies.

The AI Noise Cancelling Microphone is concealed on the headset, it has a built in processor that filters out over 500 million types of background noise while preserving voice communication.

Because of the missing settings on armoury crate i cant enable the ai-mic noise canceling (i dont know if there's another way to enable it).

Hi Nate152,

Yes, i have a ROG motherboard.
I installed Two-Way AI Noise Cancellation (restarted pc) and enabled it on the motherboard.

It doens't seem to do anything from testing in-game chat and discord. (tested with sound on tv and keyboard keys sound)

Hi Nate152,

I apologize, upon further inspection, i noticed a new "device" appearing om my windows device list.
On selecting that device i in fact get noise cancelation on the mic.
I'm not sure if that is the same as what is advertised on the asus product site (ai-mic noise cancelation), but its pretty good.

Leaving this here just in case someone else has the same problem.

Anyway, thank you very much for your help.
