ROG Ally X – Command Center opens as a windowed / broken overlay after ASUS Cloud Recovery

Issue:
After performing an ASUS Cloud Recovery on my ROG Ally X, pressing the Command Center hardware button opens a desktop-style windowed UI instead of the normal full overlay.
The Command Center appears layered, misaligned, and behaves like a regular Windows app rather than the expected gaming overlay.

What I’ve already tried (in order):

1. ASUS Cloud Recovery (fresh system restore)

2. Fully updated everything, including:

   • Armoury Crate SE (inside the app)

   • ROG Services

   • ASUS System Control Interface

   • Windows Updates

3. Toggled Command Center layout

   • Switched between Gaming Panel Mode and Classic Grid Mode

   • Rebooted between changes

4. Used the official ASUS Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool

   • Completely removed Armoury Crate SE

5. Reinstalled Armoury Crate SE cleanly

6. Used PowerShell to reset Armoury Crate / settings

7. Rebooted multiple times

8. Contacted ASUS Support

   • Support could not identify the cause or provide a solution

Current state:

• Armoury Crate SE installs and runs normally

• All services appear installed and updated

• The Command Center button still launches a windowed UI

• Issue started only after Cloud Recovery

• Problem persists after clean reinstall and resets

Anyone can share something that worked? I have an ROG ALLY X 2024
