This is what finally got updated, and caused the problems:

I have rebooted the system several times and this error persists.

UPDATE:
I got impatient and used the AC uninstall tool, and the re-installed AC from scratch.
Now I'm getting this error when I click on my Ryujin in the Dashboard:
👇
It shouldn't be doing that!
Btw, there is nothing wrong with my Ryujin, and the fans auto-tuned ok after the installation. Additionally, the fans are manually changing from Silent, Standard, Turbo to Full Speed without any problems.
Any ideas how to fix my AC?

Did you read this thread?

Actually yes I did.
But I don't have a google account (and don't intend to get one specifically) - so I am unable to log into that in order to access the form they mention.
Guess that's left me up the proverbial creek without a paddle huh?
ps. I still have this AC issue and if anything it's got worse. Uninstalling and re-installing did nothing to fix it. I really hoped ASUS would be better than this.

I've brought my Ac back to some some sort of normality. I just didn't install those modules that appeared to cause the problem in the first place:
I'm guessing every module update is important, but I will have to keep a look out for the next version numbers before I attempt updating these again. In the meantime, I'm now hoping that my motherboard holds up until then.

Spoke too soon and my Armoury Crate is still broken.
Here's the latest when I'm trying to access my fan settings:
I actually did a uninstall using the tool and installed the full AC version - updated and that was the result.
