Problem with external hdd drives on usb after installing armory crate - ASUS GA35

I have a problem with external USB drives after installing Armory Crate (the latest version after the update from today). I do not have access to them.
1. At the beginning there is a video showing that the disks are working properly (read / write) without Armory Crate installed.

2. armory crate installation video https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/a/#/s/BDEC8A0354A74560B3500D9C07F16FDE4
3. After restarting my computer, I can't access usb drives. This is what this video shows. Note that this does not happen with all drives. I noticed this with my Seagate. WD is ok.

4. Interestingly, when I disconnect the drives that I do not have access to and connect them back to the usb. The disks are starting to function properly.

When i bought this desktop computer i have installed i think armoury version 3 or 4. Everything was ok with my access to external hdd drives. The bug appeared with version 5.
Have you any ideas how to solve this issues?

I would be looking for other updates to drivers like the USB Hub drivers for the motherboard. It sounds like they may be out of date.

RGB software typically does not have any impact on USB ports. Though with Armoury Crate, there are lots of strange behavior.

Head over to https://rog.asus.com/support find your motherboard, look for driver updates for your system.

All drivers are the latest.

Drive management may be more at issue than Armoury Crate.

Let's say that your Western Digital drive has no drive letter assigned, and your Segate has drive letter E.
If the computer detects the WD first, it may get drive E assigned, then when the Segate appears, it can't have the drive letter it is assigned.

I would assign drive letters to every drive, reboot and see if the issue still occurs.

this is not this problem i have checked it many times

I would be replacing drive cables then. They can wear out.

I would also be checking the event log for errors. Things with USB or drives in particular.

Hello MFrost,

I have the exact issue you have.  To verify the issue I used Armory_Crate_Uninstall_Tool and my problem went away.  Then used ArmoryCrateInstallTool to reinstall and problem came back.  Just like you it affects my external USB drive.  I noticed when booting my PC the external drive is working until the Armory Crate kicks in and turns on my LEDs it is controlling.  I have a annoying temp fix I have to do,  Once everything is done loading I have to unplug the external drive and plug it back in.  All my drivers are all up to date.   Really would like Asus to a fix this issue.

I do it the some. But this is not a convenient solution. I wrote to Asus support many times. They ask for updates of Armoury Create every time....I have this issue for over two years. Mr. Asus, do something about it. !!!
