Hi ROG Team,
I recently added XPG ARGB Strip Lights inside my ProArt PA602 Wood Edition cabinet, connected to my ProArt Z890 motherboard.
The problem is:
Armoury Crate and Aura Creator no longer have brightness control for ARGB strips, especially for effects like Rainbow, which is my favorite and the one I always use. Earlier versions of Armoury Crate (around v2–3) included a brightness slider, and it worked perfectly.
My older ROG G15CK pre-built had fewer LEDs (only 2 strips) and also ran at about 50% brightness by default, which looked perfect.
But on my new setup, I have more LEDs overall, and running them at 100% brightness is way too intense for my room’s low ambient light.
Right now, I’m forced to use SignalRGB ONLY for lowering the brightness of the strips—but I honestly don’t like SignalRGB and prefer Armoury Crate for everything. All my lighting is controlled through Armoury Crate except the strips, simply because the brightness option is missing.
Request:
Please bring back the brightness adjustment slider for ARGB strips in Armoury Crate, especially for built-in effects like Rainbow. This was a very helpful feature and made it easy to balance lighting intensity based on the user’s setup.
Thank you!

I tried SignalRGB for one day but it’s too buggy, so I’ve stopped using it. I’m sticking with Armoury Crate for everything, but mostly turning off the strips because of the brightness issue. Really looking forward to a fix or help with this!

Hi MrAapiGC,
Actually, I remember this feature being in Armoury Crate 2, which came pre-installed on my pre-built ROG G15CK Desktop. It allowed control over Motherboard RGB, including strip lights, to adjust brightness.
There was a Lighting tab where I could unsync from Aura Sync, change the brightness, and then sync back—the brightness value would stay the same, unlike keyboards or mice where switching back to Aura Sync resets brightness. This feature was still available up through Armoury Crate 3, but seems to have been removed after Armoury Crate 4.
It was very useful, especially for strip lights, and I hope it can be considered again in future updates.
Thanks!

some features on prebuilds are different. they have a controller aside.
i remember long time ago, suggesting this when i was colab with them. to add this feature internally but i do not remember why the was not implement it on normal motherboard. Reduction of bigness also help to reduce heat on ram on lights by 10 to 20c
If is a solitd color, you can trick it. but on presets nop.

Hi MrAapiGC,
I use Rainbow, so the solid color trick unfortunately doesn’t help in my case.
There’s one more thing I noticed:
Since my ARGB strips cover all four sides of the tempered glass, Armoury Crate’s Aura Sync shows the same color on the top and bottom at the same time, so the flow isn’t smooth. When I tested SignalRGB, the color transition behaved correctly—e.g., red would move continuously from one end to the other, not mirror on two sides like in Armoury Crate.
SignalRGB also has a few useful features that Armoury Crate doesn’t, like turning off RGB when the system is idle, which saves power and turns off the lights when the monitor sleeps. Armoury Crate only turns RGB off when the whole PC sleeps, so the lights stay on unnecessarily.
SignalRGB uses a bit more CPU (around 1.5–2%), but in return they provide many features people want. They are even charging money for it—and many users pay—because the features are missing in Armoury Crate. I only tried it after seeing an ad.
I think ASUS may not be aware that these features matter to users. Many people don’t request improvements—they just switch to a different program. That’s probably why Armoury Crate gets called “bloatware” online later, even though it has potential. Even Windows Dynamic Lighting has brightness adjustment now, something Armoury Crate still lacks.
I really hope ASUS considers adding these improvements—especially brightness control and better strip flow—for a better user experience.
Thanks for your time.

the how users and youtubers call the app. is on them. i use the app always, and since it beginnings without any performance loss on use load or close. i agree that miss some nice features that can be added or modified, like adjust the brightness Sadly i do not colab on that area anymore since a litlle more than a year, Aside send reports when there is problem on the core or something very notable and stop giving help on it. i can make post some tips i use but the current version are far from the V4.5 Sleep is something i remove always. i know laptops can benefit on that desktop. for me sleep is not needed and more nvmes are fast now and days. but understandable. It will be great to follow these ideas.
