i could've gone for a long time not knowing how to fix this but thanks to google ai and copilot they were actually able to help somehow lol
edit: Forgot to add but make sure you have all if not most of the vcc redistributables installed, all of them i have installed just came from games I installed but I installed armory crate again without any errors
Installation Error 4102 FIX
for some reason after fresh windows installations, downloading all updates including optional .net framework previews, .Net Framework 3.5 doesn't automatically get installed or enabled which Armory Crate depends on both frameworks 3.5 and 4.8 (usually its only .Net Framework 4.8 thats already installed)
edit: no need to go to microsoft site to download .net framework 3.5, just tick on .Net Framework 3.5 in the Turn windows features on or off app and click ok, it will run the setup for you
go to C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework and make sure theres a folder in there called v3.5 which mine wasn't installed even after updating all windows updates + optional previews at a fresh install, if it aint there google .net framework 3.5 download and go to microsoft's official page, install then restart, then type windows features in windows search and make sure both frameworks are installed, .Net Framework 3.5 (.net 2.0 and 3.0) + .Net Framework 4.8 Advanced Services, (.net 4.8 should already be installed at least for me it already was, if not then google it and download it from microsofts site)
then you can install armory crate and everything should be good without any 4102 error messages
btw those who got the 4102 Installation error before doing all this, and still ran Armory Crate because it still counts as installed even after closing from the error, its probably a lot better to uninstall it using armory crate uninstall tool, restart, then make sure both frameworks are enabled, then reinstalling again because ive noticed the armory crate thats left over and installed after the 4102 error was just buggy and slow in general sometimes updating things in the update center would take ages or not even work
Aura sync devices not being recognized at bootup FIX
mainly just for non-asus devices (gigabyte mobo etc) but probably works with asus devices if anyone is having issues syncing it
Every cold boot from a shutdown, armory crate under aura sync tab, it would forget your non asus device (for me, its labelled as 'gigabyte device') even with Armory Crate's high priority setting in windows dynamic lighting, everytime after I shut down and reboot, Armory Crate doesn't detect the gigabyte device (mobo) and it's rgb lights resets to windows dynamic's default rgb settings, only until after a restart, but not a shutdown, would get it to be recognized again by armory crate and both devices can sync together again
go to control panel type in power and under Power Options, click 'change what the power buttons do', under 'Shutdown settings', disable 'Turn on fast startup' then save changes then your non asus device should always be recognized now by armory crate after a shutdown
(disabling fast startup hardly wouldn't make any difference to boot times anyways if ur windows is installed on an ssd or especially an m.2 also with fast startup enabled, shutdowns arent even full shutdowns just kept in a deep hibernation mode which waking gave armory crate detection issues)

Unfortunately, this didn't seem to change anything at my end. I recently swapped my SSD from a 990 Pro to a 9100 Pro, reinstalled Windows, and Armory Crate is the only program having issues on the reinstall. In my previous Windows install, AC installed without issue, and even prior to that on a Z790 build it installed without issue. I double-checked the .NET folders to make sure all the components were there, even downloaded the executables directly, but it didn't make an impact.
Whatever is going on seems to be related to recent AC builds, and unfortunately I don't know what the solution may be.

yeah its still a hit or miss at times, there was a new AC update maybe last week dont know if that made anything worse or not since ive installed ac when the latest update was prior to last week's without any issues luckily and haven't touched it since now that everythings working fine and even detecting my gigabyte mobo even with fast start enabled
but what I did that worked a couple times on a fresh install was install CPU Chipset Drivers>Download all windows updates>mobo drivers>GPU Drivers>Enabled .net 3.5 frameworks>Install apps like gpu tweak 3, and peripherals>games
then I'd hold off on installing armory crate right on a fresh windows install for at least for a couple hours to a day, instead running a couple different games to get all the vcc redistributables installed, checking all windows updates are installed, restarted pc at least once then install armory crate after a couple hours of doing all that with fingers crossed also make sure theres no other rgb lighting control is installed to conflict with armory crate
