HAL Update Broke My RGB Case & Fan Lighting (2nd time)

Whatever this update is it completely broke my case and fan lighting. 

I tried restoring my system to a previous point. Nope. It did not fix the problem.

I tried uninstalling Armory Crate and re-installing my previous downloaded version. Nope.

Does anybody know how to restart the lighting in the Device Manager or what Service/Application to restart or uninstall in Computer Management??? 

I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions. 

This is the 2nd time an update in Armory Crate has completely disabled my case and fan lighting. 

The 1st time I was able to fix it by repairing and resetting Armory Crate in the advanced options of the Installed apps but even this is not working this time. 

This was my first reported incident. I replied on 7-1-2024. 👇

Hi,

i would recommend to uninstall everyting an start fresh.

1. Backup any setting u don't wann lose or note i down. 

2. I would personally not use Armory Crate. Its a buggy mess and in my opinion Malware. Just update your drivers and Bios manually. For drivers you can check this link: Asus Forum Index of all MoKiChU'S drivers Firmware and Software.

3. For controlling your RGB u can use  Aura Sync Utility  

To remove everything and start fresh we use this 3. Clean up tools in the right order.

1. Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool

2. AI Suite 3 Cleaner 

3. Github -- ASUS Setup Tool 

after finishing the steps above, i would recommend to use only Aura Sync Utility  (Lighting Control) its lightweight and gets the job done.

I really appreciate your suggestion.

In fact, I was able to use the Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool to successfully uninstall Armoury Crate from my PC.

The lighting on the case fans and lighting on the motherboard fans started working correctly after I shutdown and restarted.

One problem that I have - really the only reason I installed Armoury Crate in the 1st place - is the ability to control the lighting on the RAM. 

The lighting on the RAM has always functioned properly throughout all these issues but since uninstalling Armoury Crate I lost the ability to control the color. (SEE PIC BELOW)

Do you have any suggestions for an app (free or paid) or program that will allow me to just set the color of the RAM??

If I find one, then I have no need for Armoury Crate at all because my case fans and motherboard fans are controlled by ARGB boards on the back side of my PC. 

Do you know if the Aura Sync Utility will allow me to just control the RAM lighting?? 

When Armoury Crate was working properly (almost 9 months flawlessly), under SYNC Devices tab, if I only selected the motherboard & RAM and deselected Addressable LEDs then all the fan lighting would go dark. Another words, Armoury Crate forced me to "Select All" in the SYNC Devices tab, when all I really needed was to just control the RAM lighting. 

Please let me know if there is a better way to control only the RAM lighting that does not require the app/program to override the control of the other lighting, which is controlled independently.

Yes.  Aura Sync Utility u can even control Philips hue. U can sync them and to  loot of effects.  It has even support for ingame Light effects. I control all my Mainboards lights aio and ram with it.

But again.. its important that u uninstall all that before you switch to  Aura Sync .

The whole Prozesses takes maybe 10 minutes.

This might be exactly what I have been looking for!!!

After I finish uninstalling all this with the stuff you posted, I might give that OpenRGB a whirl. It can't possibly be any worse than Armoury Crate has been since July 2024 - for me anyway. 

What I still do not understand is how everything could work flawlessly since I built my PC and then one update in July screwed it all up. Then they fixed it in an update and it started working properly again.

Then the update on Tuesday, August 10th screwed everything up again. 

I plan to run the AI Cleaner and that GITHUB ASUS Setup tool WITHOUT installing anything and see what happens. 

Then I will decide which to try (AURA Sync or OpenRGB).
