Faulting application AacAmbientLighting.exe and Armoury Crate v5.7.9

I am a long time Asus lover, but my patience is severely being tested with Armoury Crate - after issues with earlier versions of Armoury Crate there was a period of stability, and with the latest version of Armoury Crate (v5.7.9.0) I am now getting intermittent crashes with the AacAmbientLighting.exe component on a Z13.

Asus - please bug test your applications!!!!!!!!!!! and better still - ASK users before updating their version of the application!!!!!

What problems are you experiencing/referring to @Untergang?

Is it the issue I experienced in my initial post?

If so, then for me so far - touch wood - I haven't experenced any issues since reinstalling.

I suggest you follow the procedure below:

1. Uninstall AC by right clicking on the app in the Start menu, and select Uninstall
2. Reboot
3. Reinstall AC using the ACFullInstall file
4. Reboot
5. Run AC and update it
6. Once the update has completed reboot again
7. Load AC and you should see a component called HAL @ v2

If you're still experiencing issues after this, I'd recommend posting here with full details of the issue you're experiencing.

I do not work for Asus and do not use my device primarily for gaming - I use it for work - so yes - it does impact me a great deal when there is an issue, however my primary mission objective is to fix the issue so I can continue to use my device.

I understand your mission objective is different, however I would put it to you that this forum probably isn't the best place to progress with trying to highlight your issue - what you're discussing is potentially bringing a class action type lawsuit - and there are other mechanisms in place to promote and highlight the public's attention to such issues.

LightingService.exe still keeps spawning more handles (2 per second) after the update. I'll let it go until it stops but doesn't seem like it ever does.

I uninstall asus crate and there are no more errors, and my chakram x origin has no more problems with scroll jumping.I dont want to suffers and problems anymore with asus crate until further notice.After uninstall i have drop of virtual memory at rest from 55% to 8-9%

There is one user who has reported seeing the same problem - for me - the issue looks to have been resolved - or at least I have not experienced it yet.

I'm thinking of dropping Armoury Crate completely.  Too many buggy releases. I'm only keeping the app for the RGB software support. The rest of it is useless.

EDIT: Not sure if it has been posted already but it seems to have been fixed - at least for me - with the last update for the ASUS Hal. Haven't tried a full power on / sleep cycle but have managed to play 3 hours uninterrupted gameplay.

I'm still impressed that an app that's supposed to blink some pretty lights manages to crash an entire PC eg. The Last of Us kept crashing or it didn't even start due to Out of Memory messages on a PC with a 4090 and 32GB of RAM, Destiny 2 crashed so epically that I had to manually reboot my PC (video signal was out).

Since you managed to ****** up a few peoples holidays maybe add support for Windows 11 Dynamic Lights so we make the Armoury optional. Just saying.
