Faulting application AacAmbientLighting.exe and Armoury Crate v5.7.9

I am a long time Asus lover, but my patience is severely being tested with Armoury Crate - after issues with earlier versions of Armoury Crate there was a period of stability, and with the latest version of Armoury Crate (v5.7.9.0) I am now getting intermittent crashes with the AacAmbientLighting.exe component on a Z13.

Asus - please bug test your applications!!!!!!!!!!! and better still - ASK users before updating their version of the application!!!!!

If you can use your PC - keep AC installed and the update will auto install.

If you can't use your PC uninstall AC and reinstall it at the beginning of next week to get the update.

Currently, the temporary solution is to uninstall and install Armoury Crate. 

The schedule for the update has been pulled in again to Dec. 29th. If you can't wait to try the update before testing is complete, here is the download. Please install and reboot, then install any updates available in Armoury Crate.

I am facing the same problem on my Z13. First, I located the AacAmbientLighting.exe, re-named it and kill the related app from the task manager. I havent got  any issues ever since.  AC is working just fine. Maybe it helps.

how did you renamed it? idk much about  it 😞

in my case AacAmbientLighting.exe file is located in C:\Program Files\ASUS\AacAmbientHal\ 

i renamed the AacAmbientLighting.exe to AacAmbientLighting_bak.exe (doesnt really matter what name you gave). then from the task manager kill the AacAmbientLighting.exe process, restart the computer and done. 

Ps. i didnt mess with AacAmbientLighting related windows services. I tried to disable the service but AC was not working then. So i just leave it as it is.
