EA ANTI CHEAT AND ARMOURY CRATE BUG

Dmr1

Hello everyone,

I'm writing to you with little hope as the subject has already been reported several times, here on ROG and on the EA site, but I'll give it a try anyway

I've got a ROG Z790 Maximus Dark Hero motherboard, a ROG Ryujin III 360 AIO watercooler (a ROG keyboard too) so I really need to use the "Armoury Crate" software to operate and tune my components.

Among the adjustable features with Armoury Crate is the small screen on my Ryujin III 360 cooling system, which I use to display the temperatures of my CPU and GPU.

THE PROBLEM:

With my STEAM games everything is fine, but when I launch an EA game (in this case Battlefield 2042) the screen of my AIO Ryujin III 360 freezes and no longer displays CPU temperatures, and in the Windows 11 event viewer there are several errors mentioning a problem with Asus services (which have surely been blocked by EA's Anti-cheat).

If someone stumbles upon this post and possibly knows of a solution, or if someone on the ROG staff could take this problem into account, that would be great...

For your information, everything is up to date, my BIOS, my drivers, Armoury Crate, EA Anti-Cheat, Windows 11...

(I am French, sorry for my English 😅)

Best regards.

Finally I found someone with my same problem.

yes... I'm currently discussing this problem with Asus ROG, I'll let you know if I have any news... other people are experiencing the same problems on the EA forum, but with no solutions.

I even found that Armoury Crate crashed Minecraft version Bedrock 🤦‍♂️

I give up with this software for the moment.

Otherwise, for the more courageous, I found that you could theoretically control the "embedded fan" and the "pump fan" separately with the FanControl software and its "Liquidctl for FanControl" plugin.

I couldn't get it to work, so I gave up, but for those who want to try, you've got the info!

LiquidCtl for FanControl : https://github.com/jmarucha/FanControl.Liquidctl

FanControl software : https://getfancontrol.com

LiquidCtl : https://github.com/liquidctl/liquidctl

LiquidCtl version compatible with Ryujin III 360 : https://github.com/aleksamagicka/liquidctl-aqc/tree/6faf1f12e70dcf7aa8d1bc1168bc299cc9fc491b

As I understand it

- « LiquidCtl for FanControl » is simply a plugin to be installed in the FanControl software for communication between FanControl and LiquidCtl.

- « LiquidCtl » is the program that will detect AIO cooler fans so that FanControl can see them.

Note that LiquidCtl supports the Ryujin II and not the Ryujin III, but it seems that someone has managed to make it compatible with the
Ryujin III by adding a line of code (see the link I gave above)

All this is to try for those who are interested, do not hesitate to give us news if you succeed 😄

This information is what I understood, I may be wrong, I also put you the link of the forum that talks about the modification of the file for the compatibility of the Ryujin III:

https://github.com/liquidctl/liquidctl/issues/677

Good luck !

dude i am having the same issue but with bfv.  running a 7800x3d with asus ryujin II - 240.  its so frustrating because it makes the game so unplayable..  this is ridiculous that this is something that can happen in 2024. 🤬🤬.  my screen also becomes unresponsive and on my main temp which is my cpu package i get a "// c°".. i dont blame asus but i do blame ea 100 freaking percent.  my rig was perfect before ea decided to do this crap.

Sorry for you... I reinstalled Windows without Armoury Crate (disable "Armoury Crate setup" in the bios to prevent it from installing automatically when Windows starts) while waiting for a solution...

If i uninstall AC how am i supposed to control my fans and the display on my ryujin 2 to show my temps?  fan control is not a solution and quite frankly i don't get the hype that app gets.. it never has worked correctly for me with different pc builds that i have had. i am pretty sure it wants me to plug in my fan cables to the appropriate spot on my mb and i dont want to do that cause the way i have it now is totally fine..  Its just EA's anti cheat which is the issue.

Same issue here. X570 + Ryujin 360.

The workaround is to set AIO cooler to fixed 100% speed before launching Battlefield. This will keep CPU cool enough to play the game.  Obviously, after closing the game you would need to manually set it to lower speed like 70% to keep reasonble noise/temp balance.

still stutters like crazy if i do that tonywush... its messing with my framerates and my 1%L  on my fps overlay is all over the place. one minute it jumps from 100 to 43 to 72 to 15 to 120 on and on and on.  i keep getting frustrated playing my favorite fps game which is bfv.

Hello fellow gamers

Rog Ryujin II 360 Maximus XII Z490 HERO i9-11900K RTX 3070

After upgrading to BIOS 3001. Started BFV and realized that something was wrong with the cooling. The CPU fan showed 0 RPM and the heat on the CPU skyrocketed. It was only after restarting the PC that things returned to normal, but every time I try to start BFV, the CPU fan stops and the temperature rises. Experience that the problem has propagated a little in the system. Have to keep an eye on the CPU fan because occasionally it just stops and needs some attention so that the temperature does not become critical. It has become impossible to play BFV. I never cheated!

The problems occurred after the BIOS update to 3001, but it is when I start BFV that causes trouble with the cooling.

Have a pleasant day

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out with some hope, even though I know this issue has been reported many times on both the ROG and EA sites. I’m hoping for any new solutions.

I’m using a ROG Z790 Maximus Dark Hero motherboard and a ROG Ryujin III 360 AIO watercooler (along with a ROG keyboard), so I rely on the Armoury Crate software to control and customize my components. One feature I use often is the small display on my Ryujin III 360, which shows my CPU and GPU temperatures.

The Issue:

Everything works well with my Steam games, but when I launch an EA game (specifically Battlefield 2042), the screen on my AIO Ryujin III 360 freezes and stops displaying CPU temps. Checking the Windows 11 Event Viewer shows several errors related to Asus services, which may be getting blocked by EA’s Anti-Cheat.

If anyone here has run into this issue and found a fix, or if a member of the ROG staff could look into it, that would be amazing.

Just to note, all my software is up to date—BIOS, drivers, Armoury Crate, EA Anti-Cheat, and Windows 11.

(I’m French, so apologies for any mistakes in my English! 😅)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best regards.
