Can't use Aura Creator in Armoury Crate

Hi,

Hope this hasn't been discussed before, did some search but didn't find anything.

I'm new to Armoury Crate which I installed just in order to use Aura Sync.

The problem is, I can't use Aura Creator.
When I started it, I got the tutorial and then just after the tutorial, it said I didn't have the latest version of Armoury Crate, then I have a button to update, but when I click, it does nothing. It closes the Aura Creator window, and nothing then.

Of course, I checked manually if there was an update, and there wasn't! No surprise since I just downloaded it a few days ago and installed it today. My version of Armoury Crate is 6.1.18.0, which is the latest as specified in the Asus website.

Also tried to go in the Settings part of the software and it says there is a 6.1.18.1 version. Ok nice, so there is actually an update! I click on the update button, it then seems to make the update and says the app will close itself, ok... Nothing closes... I close it manually after the update and relaunch it: still in the 6.1.18.0 version! I go back to the settings page and check again for updates: it the latest version is the 6.1.18.0 and I'm up to date!! No trace of the 6.1.18.1! Now I'm going back to the Aura Creator which now accepts to launch... And it says I don't have any recognized device... Well it looks like a joke... What about my fans and my Asus motherboard itself!? Everything works fine in Aura Sync. But I need to use Creator because it's impossible to add gradient models in the rainbow setting (seriously... they could have added a simple option for that...).

Any help appreciated.

EDIT: well forget about it, I found a solution. I had to update manually my components in the update page.
I tried to delete this post so it wouldn't annoy you but I couldn't find a button for this, seems that there isn't one. Sorry for the useless post. Anyway, I guess it'll show that the app is still quite buggy about wanted to update and doing nothing.

Well... Actually not.

I thought everything was fine but every time I turn on the computer or go back from sleep, the lights are back to the default settings (some kind of basic rainbow) and then after I log into Windows, every light is turned off.

I have to go back to Armoury Crate, which shows the correct settings (even if it's not active, it believes it is), i have to pick another setting to make it active, and then go back to the one I want.
So basically: it deactivates after each turn off/sleep mode, have to turn it back manually by myself!
Any help appreciated!

Try creating a profile in Aura Creator, it should show the profile in Aura Sync.

I tried this, and the behaviour is now... Better but still a bit strange.
When I turn on the computer from sleep, it has the basic rainbow effect during the login screen (where I have to put my pin code), then the lights turn off completely after sending my code, and a few seconds later when Windows seems fully loaded, my rgb lights are back correctly according to my settings.
Do you have the same thing?

So... It's more or less fine but it behaves quite strangely during the login process. When I was using Aura software as a standalone, I had less settings but it was completely fine at any moment.

Still have to try how it behaves when I turn off/on the computer completely. I'll come back to tell you.

Yes, it works the same for me.

It's normal for the lighting to be the rainbow effect during startup. Once loaded into windows, Armoury Crate should set your lighting settings or profiles.

Ok, I tested how it works when I shut down the computer and turn it on again. Same behaviour than with the sleep mode. So, if you say it's normal, problem solved. Thank you. 🙂
By the way, it would be cool if a future update could make it work like with the standalone Asus Aura and give the leds their proper settings before logged into Windows.

I can't even open Aura Creator. Inside Armoury Crate, when I go too Aura Sync > Aura Effects > click on Aura Creator. It simply opens a webpage saying to download Armoury Crate.....WHICH IS WHAT I'M ACCESSING THE LINK IN! It's driving me crazy!
