Motherboard device page can no longer be opened! Device page loads for “infinitely” and doesn’t open. BIOS and Armoury Crate (with uninstaller) reinstalled. Problem still exists. Affected device:  ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO. It seems to be a problem not only for me, but for several people I know with the same motherboard! Any settings for Polimo Light, RGB header, etc. cannot be used! Problem exists now for several months and there is still no solutionScreenshot (539).pngScreenshot (540).png

Looks like you might have missed the previous message, we will take a look at your new log. Thanks for the updated info, make sure that you have not stopped the recording until after you rebooted the system, please record the log again if needed (and attach to the same form).

Hi @MasterC , thanks for the response! In the previous V5.8.9.0 thread, I was unable to insert any more documents into the Google Docs form (reached files limit), as stated, and the thread was subsequently closed. I have attached a new log (as specified) to the V5.9.4.0 Google Docs form, because updates have been published in the meantime. Thanks!

Hi @MasterC

Just wanted to ask if there is any news yet? 🙂 Constantly switching off the power supply so that the MB Polymo Light is off, is not particularly fun in the long run (Because MB Settings is not accessible (with me and my friend)).

I would be happy 😄

The rainbow effect is broken when I configure the correct/actual number of LEDs for light strips/fans.

I realized that the rainbow effect is broken when I set the number of LEDs for my fans in Addressable Headers section of the Armoury Crate software to the actual values of the light strips/fans instead of 120 which is set as default for Header1, Header2 and Header3.

These are my components:

  • The mainboard is a ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI.
  • The CPU cooler is a Alpenföhn Dolomit Premium that uses a Wing Boost 3 ARGB fan with 14 LEDs. It is connected to Header1 [ADD_GEN 2_1] on the mainboard.
  • My case is a bequiet Shadow Base 800 FX. It has
    • 4 Light Wings 140mm PWM fans with 20 LEDs each
    • 2 ARGB light strips with 20 LEDs each

connected to an ARGB hub that itself is connected to Header2 [ADD_GEN 2_2] on the mainboard.

I would like to rule out that the ARGB hub is causing or related to the problem, as the CPU cooler directly connected to the motherboard shows the same problem.

This is how I want to properly configure the number of LEDs in Addressable Headers section of the Armoury Crate software:

Default actual number of respective fan LEDs
Header1 120 14
Header2 120 20

Expected behavior

The rainbow color gradients look like the following picture:

brokenrainbow_0-1720334915102.png

Actual behavior

No more rainbow gradient, neither for the CPU fan nor for the case fans and LED strips. See the picture below:

brokenrainbow_1-1720334915116.png

When I restore the default settings, the rainbow effect / rainbow gradient is fine.

Other color schemes require the actual number of LEDs to be configured to work properly

With the default settings other color schemes are not working properly.

If I choose a static color gradient with red as color 1 and blue as color 2 it is only shown the correct way, if I have configured the number of LEDs according to the actual number of respective fan / ARGB light strip LEDs.

Using the default 120 it looks like this:

brokenrainbow_2-1720334915124.png

Instead of a red-blue-color gradient all LEDs are just red.

This is how it shall look like, and as it indeed does, if I have configured the number of LEDs properly:

brokenrainbow_3-1720334915132.png

As expected, first half is red, then fading to the second half in blue.

It even works, if I set the number of LEDs to 2.

Expectation: First LED is red, 2nd LED is blue.

There you go:

brokenrainbow_4-1720334915140.png

(The completely red LED ring in the background can be ignored. It belongs to the CPU fan and was configured with the default value of 120 when I took the example photos.)

Additional info about the ARGB hub:

This information is for the purpose of completeness only.

Please ignore the hub! As mentioned earlier, the same problem occurs with my 14 LED CPU fan that is directly connected to the mainboard. Also hooking up one of the 20 LED case fans directly to the mainboard results exactly in the same broken rainbow pattern.

The ARGB hub comes with the PC case:

bequiet SHADOW BASE 800 FX
https://www.bequiet.com/en/case/4483

There are no specs or drawings available.

The hub is not capable of addressing the connected LED fans / strips individually.

It simply splits the input signal and loops it through to all outputs.

There are some spare part numbers available, but there are no search results on the internet for those:

  • SHA0800-F0-038 (Fan and ARGB hub - Black)
  • SHA0800-F0-039 (Fan and ARGB hub - White)

Here is a picture of the white version of the fan and ARGB hub:

Updated automatically... now my case fans are not responding to the AURA crate when I'm changing colours. I have to shut down the PC and switch off the PSU and wait. After switching on I can only change the colours once and after that the case fans are not changing colours... Why is this always an issue?

Updated automatically... Now it cannot change the colours of the case fans. I have to switch off the PC and then switch off the PSU. After that switching on the PSU and then the PC it will allow me to change once and the colours on my case fans are changing but when I change to another colour it won't do anything. Before this new update it was worked perfectly.

Faint lines started appearing on whole screen after updating Armoury Crate, this has happened for the second time.
This is happening when panel is on 60 Hz refresh rate, whenever it is switched to 300 Hz, the lines disappear and when switched back to 60 Hz - they reappear.

I have an ROG SCAR 17 laptop.

Any solutions ?

Hi, did you fix it?

Please submit another form once the new update is released. Xiaomi Smart Lightstrip Pro is not a device we can control. For example, some peripherals allow power after shutdown, and some do not. This is programmed by the device, not the motherboard.

  • Any forms submitted by non-members will be dismissed (no way to communicate with users).
  • Founder's Edition graphics cards are not our products and therefore not supported in Armoury Crate.

* Please note that all updates require extensive testing on various systems with different configurations (almost everyone has a different system configuration) which takes time, and need to be released to every user around the world (updates may fail on specific configs which results in delays). Also, we understand that users do not want to see updates that frequently, and therefore, updates with multiple patches are generally packaged together then released at the same time. Unless a critical fix required, it is highly unlikely for your issue to be resolved within one or a few days. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
