A new Armoury Crate major release is now available. This is the official thread to report issues.

Please Read First:


Uninstall legacy Aura Sync software if already installed.
Always uninstall Armoury Crate using our uninstall tool (DO NOT remove or delete manually) - now included in the standard installer (right-click on icon in Windows Start Menu)

DO NOT delete files manually after uninstalling Armoury Crate
DO NOT modify the registry
Try to perform a power cycle to resolve lighting issues (shutdown and unplug power supply for at 30 seconds)
Forms MUST be completed and submitted in order to be processed.
Forms from non-forum members will NOT be processed
Must post a brief description in this thread (do this before filling in a form) to receive status updates.

Must read before reporting issues:

1. THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR GENERAL CHAT, please report issues ONLY (try to find related threads or create a new one)
2. Try to reboot the system after updates are installed, and check again.
3. DO NOT report issues if facing improper uninstallation or registry issues - please resolve first
4. Revert system to stock speeds to check if errors are caused by excessive overclocking (even if overclock was stable previously)
5. Verify and confirm issues before reporting (do not make multiple posts while still in the process of troubleshooting)
6. Post a brief description of your issue in this thread (less than 50 words)
7. Record and generate a log (change the extension from .LogE to .txt). Prepare some screenshots and photos if applicable.
8. Complete the online Google form: Click HERE  to submit a form
9. Save the link to the form in case you need to revise or upload additional files (do not submit multiple form for the same issue).

How to record a log

First, check the Record log box to start recording (Setting/About/App diagnostics)
Agree to the disclaimer
Replicate the issue you are having (reboot if necessary - the log tool will keep running)
Click on the Generate log data button
Save the log file to a location of your choice. (Avoid locations synced to OneDrive)
Stop the recording
Remember to upload this log file to the Google Form (change file extension to .txt first)

Getting S-1000 error with rog mouse again

Triple confirming the LightingService.exe memory / handle leak. LightingService.exe was holding 98% of my virtual memory with handles even with solid colors. CPU usage has also increased dramatically as well. Please fix this, it causes actual crashing issues when it holds that much, and the only fix is to restart the service (something I've set as a scheduled task at this point).

Major issue. A reinstall fixes the issue mainly however it still keeps launching 2 handles each second, even after the most recent service update.

Description for the Google Form:
LightingService.exe has a major memory leak issue where it can reach up to 600k/1 million handles (I've seen this on one desktop and one laptop already). A reinstall fixes the issue mainly however it still keeps spawning 2 handles per second even with the latest patches of today.

Hey just saw your post about this.  I've been trying to track down a weird massive increase in pagefile.sys size in the last week or so.  Is this leak with the ever increasing handles causing massive swap file usage for you as well?  I'm definitely seeing the handle count continuously increase, but I had already rebooted right before I saw your post so I'm not sure what it was up to, but with 32GB of RAM I had an 74GB swap file and it's usually about 5-6 with windows managing it and I had an out of virtual memory about a week ago that crashed DWM and wouldn't let me launch games until a reboot.  My system is normally up 24/7 with no issues.

Yes, the Lightning Service leak is eating memory like there is no tomorrow. 64 GB system here which also runs 24/7, suddenly noticed my memory was almost full with nothing special running. Didn't take me long to track down the culprit with the help of the Details tab of the Windows Task Manager. Killing the Lightning Service process immediately gave me all my lost memory back.

Since I use solid colors I don't actually need the service running, so for the time being I keep the Services applet open at all times so that whenever my system returns from Sleep and Armoury Crate restarts the service, I go in and manually stop it. Don't actually want to disable the service as I'm not sure what the implications of doing this are, but if Asus doesn't fix this fast, that's what I will do.

This leak will bring ANY system to its knees FAST, it's a critical bug, so I'm not sure why Asus is still playing 'oh we got time' on this. If we have to tolerate their policy of forced updates (WHY?! GOD WHY?!!!) then at the very least they should very much be on top of their game.

P.S. As if AC wasn't bad enough given how bloated it is, this forced upgrade is BS. Solves nothing that couldn't be solved otherwise (just tell the user to install the latest version of Armoury Crate or to update it to the latest version before offering support) and only creates a never ending sequence of more and more problems and unstable systems that work one week and stop working the other, with the user having no control over it. It's sad, really.

Thanks for the info confirming I'm not nuts lol.  So I went as far as disabling the service.  What I've found so far is you need to run it once after a reboot, not sure about coming out of full standby as I only let my monitors go into standby and hasn't been an issue.  What I found is if you don't let it run once after a restart though is the AC software will start filling up the Event Log with crashes every few seconds.  Letting the lighting service run for a minute or two seems to make AC happy and you can then shut it off and disable the service again.

Have Asus programmers checked if there is any VIRUS implemented in the source code files/modules for Armory Crate.

 

Yesterday there was an update of FanXpert
SDK for devices ver. 1.0.1.15

Now the synchronization when starting my computer has become
wrong. Had to restart computer a couple of times before that
jumped into action. See now that the chassis fan stops and restarts all the time.

Will try to run a new automation of the fans

Seems to work after  automation of the fans

But the problem with ROG Rujyin and tools menu remains

Good morning, for about 2 months I've been having issues with the Aura Sync configuration of my NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti graphics card. Since the day of installation, I've never had any problems with LED synchronization. However, for the past couple of months, the graphics card has disappeared from devices in Armoury Crate, and there's no way to recover it. I've tried various times to reset and uninstall/reinstall the app, but all attempts have been unsuccessful
