When opening the device's system settings in Armoury Crate, it could take several minutes to display.
Tracing the Write disk accesses, it appears that Armoury Crate Service creates a cache of icons of ALL THE APPS and store the cached icons in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ASUS\Armoury Crate Service\AC_FDS\TemporaryIcon
This could take a while if there are many programs installed. In my case, the cached icon numbers are 450+, and it takes up to 5 minutes when open the device's settings for the first time in a session.
So why is Armoury Crate Service doing such this, and is there a way to prevent that.
I hope Armoury Crate Dev team gonna actually read this.

Same thing for me with SCAR 18 2023 and AC 6.3.4.0: Re: SUPPORT HELP: AC 6.3.4.0 very slow loading of ... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 1118764

No, it's the artificial intelligence that's answering.
Seriously, persistent software issues are a feature of all ASUS devices. Even searching forum threads from 10 years ago will confirm this.
You either stick with stable BIOS and drivers, blocking all updates and replacing devices with new ones every year, or research the device yourself to find alternative solutions.
By the way, are you using an OEM system recovery image? In my experience, such a system is configured more correctly in terms of advanced registry settings and correct system priority rights.

Yes there are many complaints about ASUS software, however they seem to want to improve it in an all-in-one solution.
There is a 3rd party replacement for AC but it does not include Aura (which is now part of AC and can't be installed stand-alone).
Bios and drivers are stable and are not related to this issue. They are not related to AC, they are related to MyAsus.
So either I use AC or I don't.
I don't understand your question about the recovery image, and how it can be related to the current issue. I 've never had to use a recovery image since Windows 10 because I was always able to fix problems without recovery. But if you want to know I have no software for image backup and restore installed on my system. If I were to use such software I would boot with a usb stick which has a Win PE recovery environment and necessary programs.
So to get back to the issue here, AC is creating a cache for all icons of the shortcuts in your start menu, every time you click on your laptop in "Devices". This takes a very long time if you have many apps installed or many shortcuts. ASUS team should find a way not to create such cache, or to create it in the background after letting you access the device, or find another solution.
A part from that, AC would great if they manage to address these annoying issues.

Well, my personal experience with my laptop: the first BIOS versions from month 1-6 are perfect. All newer versions start freezing the logo and have problems with new drivers. I had to get familiar with spi-programmer and editing BIOS dumps.
Asus specialists customize the OEM Windows image more deeply by adding patches to the registry. Installing the Windows + driver method using the classic method can cause invisible problems. Recovery files from the state the laptop was in when I bought it are the best.

Well, try the Strix ISO installer. It will configure the driver parameters so they won't be affected by proprietary driver protection, which artificially disrupts the operation of expired certificates. I've given you some food for thought; decide for yourself whether experimenting is worth it. These steps helped me personally. In all other cases, the only solution is an RMA and a replacement of the entire board.
ps i not use AC, only gh*elper

I understand your point.
I have no problems with Bios and drivers are working perfectly, and my system experiences no crashes at all. Everything is running smooth. I know about gh*elper, but I don't use it because it doesn't have the support for keyboard lighting, this is why I need Aura which is now part of AC. If it weren't for that, I would be using ghe*lper.
Now for my system installation, my approach is the following for any new laptop I buy: I remove the installed Windows, format everything and install a clean Windows (enterprise) version, then install the drivers provided by Asus (from the support page). I get only graphic drivers from the chip manufacturer.
And my system is very stable, running smoothly. But I can't avoid AC simply because I need Aura. This is the cause of the annoyance.
Currently, the only annoyance is the long time loading of the device settings in AC.

We must involve some Admins in contact with ASUS software devs... I just sent a PM to some moderators.
