Issue: Armoury Crate does not appear in Windows Settings → Personalization → Dynamic Lighting → Background light control list
Problem Description
After installing Armoury Crate with the ASUS Windows Dynamic Lighting Plug-in (HAL 7.4.0.0), Armoury Crate is completely missing from the Windows 11 Dynamic Lighting background controller list. The keyboard RGB device (labeled "ROG") is detected and visible in Dynamic Lighting, but only "Dynamic Lighting Background Controller" appears in the priority list—Armoury Crate is not listed as an option.
What I've Tried
Uninstalled with the dedicated tool and reinstalled Armoury Crate a dozen times
Manual registry entry: Added provider key to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Lighting\Providers:
{B6F1CFCD-59E0-4D8D-B93D-5612DCE8C76E} = "Armoury Crate"
Result: Registry keys persist when Dynamic Lighting is OFF, but Windows deletes the Armoury Crate provider key the moment Dynamic Lighting is turned ON.
Re-registered AsusROGLSLService: Ran C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AsusROGLSLService\AsusROGLSLService.exe as administrator to re-register the lighting service.
Result: No change; Armoury Crate still does not appear in the background controller list.
Toggled Dynamic Lighting: Turned Dynamic Lighting OFF, waited, then ON again to force Windows to refresh the provider list.
Result: No change.
Checked for HAL updates: ASUS Windows Dynamic Lighting Plug-in shows version 7.4.0.0 in Update Center with no newer version available.
Verified Windows build: Running Windows 11 build 22621+ with all prerequisites met.
The registry key deletion behavior suggests that the ASUS Windows Dynamic Lighting Plug-in HAL 7.4.0.0 is not properly registering the COM provider interface with Windows. When Dynamic Lighting initializes, Windows scans the Providers registry key, finds no valid registered COM server matching the Armoury Crate GUID, and removes the "orphaned" entry as invalid.
Can somebody please help me?
