Hello,
After installing the latest version of Armoury Crate on my ROG Maximus Z790 HERO BTF motherboard with Windows 11, I started experiencing major issues that completely broke my system.
The problems began only after the most recent update. During installation, the system crashed with a blue screen (BSOD), and I was forced to enter Safe Mode just to access the desktop. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, but continued getting errors like “FileOperator.exe” crashes, update failures, and background services interfering with other software.
I experienced multiple blue screen errors (BSODs), including:
- APC_INDEX_MISMATCH
- DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
- SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
- KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
These errors kept appearing during different stages of installation, update, or startup. In some cases, the system rebooted in an endless loop.
After several failed attempts, I ended up with such a frustrating experience that I had to fully format my system and reinstall Windows from scratch.
This was incredibly disappointing — I expected Armoury Crate to enhance my experience with RGB and fan control, but instead it caused instability, wasted hours of troubleshooting, and significantly damaged my user experience with a premium motherboard.
I sincerely hope ASUS will address these critical issues in the next update. Right now, Armoury Crate is simply unusable in its current state.
Thank you.

I just uninstalled it earlier which then threw a DRAM light on my Z790-H.... Wouldn't boot afterwards. Clearing cmos is only way around it...luckily it's a recent common issue I found out through a reddit post.
Have some issues with the RGB flickering which I'll just learn to live with I guess. Only happens with AmouryCrate go figure... Next PC will be nothing like the Asus ROG theme PC I have now...Pure garbage experience for the user at a premium price.
