So I have had my Maximus Z790 for a while now, and have made it a point to steer clear of Amory Crate based off most posts I find saying its.. well crap. I would like the convenience of bios settings and updates, but it sounds like it may be mixed in with other undesirable features that outweigh any good.. if any exists.
So my question is, how bad / good is it? I'm sure it has been update over time, but have enough changes been made to make it worth trying now? Also how intrusive is it? If I decide to remove it, does the uninstall actually work or does it leave behind a hot mess?

Hi,
You've not really asked anything specific. Depends on what you need the suite for. If you own ROG peripherals, then you have various customisations available as well as Aura Sync support. I have several devices and can't say I have any issues.
Low system overheads.

I guess that answers it then.. LOL

Thanks for the response. I looked at it again and nothing seems to have changed. It appears to be a Jack of all trades and master of none type deal. In my situation I am just wanting a quick interface for updates on my motherboard and bios settings. I could care less about the rest of it and it looks like you get it whether you want it or not.

I don't think that saying applies here, you're not really providing any context.
Why do you need an interface to update motherboard settings outside of the UEFI? You can save and load profiles within there. You don't need AC for this...
For updates, there's My ASUS.

I was just looking for a more convenient way to view and/or change bios without having to restart and also to see updates. I am assuming it does that. Regardless, too much fluff for the use I had intended.

Depends on what you're looking to adjust, as some parameters require a reset anyway as they would in the UEFI
