After a more recent AC update if I'm running my laptop on battery I have eco mode on because I don't need the GPU, I have found if I put the laptop to sleep and the come back to it, the GPU activates and nothing I do can turn it off unless I restart the laptop.
Pretty annoying since I'm turning the GPU off for battery life and putting the laptop to sleep so I can carry on with what I'm doing quickly after breaks, yet have to either go plug in so the machine doesn't die or restart everything because the software doesn't want to work properly. I have had that cause crashes now and then too.
