Hello guys. i have matrix 290x and i have problem with this card.

In games card is very loud and in some games card going more than 94 Celcius and down clock (throttling). The easest way to saw it is run FurMark and bench card.

In FurMark even with 100% Fan speed card going more than 94 grades.

In my case i have 5x120mm fans and it doesnt help.

The shop where card was buy say that its not a problem and i should talk with ASUS.

The best solution.
Never buy ASUS products. Their service to butt sticking out your problems. The main thing is that they were able to sell you this dud. And you're a fool that such a thing bought.

Other manufacturers are helping you. A colleague bought MSI - in case of problems at once exchanged his equipment free of defects. Best of opinion in the forum falls Sapphire. Care about the customer and their products give help support and warranty works quickly and immediately.

Asus Matrix ?? Matrix is to get help from Asus to your problem 🙂 Get along with them, this is just the Matrix.

Hello guys. 1 year later, Im still sitting with this crap gpu. I was trying to ask ASUS in many ways but they said that all is fine ....

Like before i told, i resolve temp problem ... but this card is still insane loud.

I even try to make custom fan mod with 2x120mm Arctic F12 PWM, but they are little to weak 4 this crappy monster.

So... i dont want to sell this crap to someone else, and someone have problem with it later + this gpu is still strong, so i decide to buy custom cooler on my card.

Question is. Which cooler will be fine with this card ?? I think its have custom PCB.

I was thinking about ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV . I can have this cooler for 56Euro, but i dont know that this cooler is compatibility with this custom pcb card.

Someone can help me ??

The R9 290x can operate at 95c, AMD says this is normal and by design but the matrix should run cooler than that if you have good air flow in your case. If you don't like the high temps go with an NVidia gpu next round. 🙂

It would probably be better to install a waterblock on it.

Natel. I have news. Accelero IV maybe dont pass because have extra back cooler, thats why pcb must have 98mm. but accelero III have only cooler on core and it should pass like russian friends made, look:

what do you think ??

I don't know what to say about it because I can't read it, I do see a picture of what looks to be an accelero cooler installed on the matrix 290x.

Can you send them an email and ask if the Arctic accelero III is compatible with the Matrix 290x?

I try, they dont answer 😕 .

You can use CHROME + Translation to read it like me 😛

Yesterday i even try to buy Accelero III from Amazon, but for some reason amazon decline my paymant ...

Thank you Natel for everything, i will write if something will change.

I only know that i cant do better temp. with even 10 fans in my case.

Yesterday i add 2x extra 120mm fan on card side with 65CFM, not even 1 grade better. This cooler is just to weak to cool 290x, like i told you before ASUS made mistake with installing cooler from 780Ti on 290x.
