RMA Gone bad?

My Radeon R9 290x went bad; I was getting hardware faults, blue screens, display cracks up, horizontal broken lines. I removed card, and used motherboard HDMI, and problem goes away. (but I can't play BF4)

I started a Service Case online on April 2
Service (Case) Number NA3575946

Placed a call to ASUS shortly thereafter where I was on hold for well over an hour.

RMA Number USPC440833

Shipped the R9 290x ($5-600 card) to ASUS via UPS

Around a week later I received from ASUS an HD7770 (a $100 card) No packing slip, no explanation.

What's up? Is this a loaner card to hold me over until mine comes back? Is this the intended replacement?

It is a mistake for sure...damned annoying but you will have to get onto them about it
