HEllo i just upgraded from an 7870 to the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5

I followed these steps for drivers

1. Ran Catalyst control center from C:/ AMD and did a custom uninstall. Removed all
2. Restarted computer
3. Ran Driver Fusion and deleted everything from AMD
4. Restarted computer
5. Installed latest 13.12 R9 drivers from AMD site

I get artifacts (shapes, lines , squares) flashing everywhere in screen , when in Chrome, in Dota 2 and Planetside 2. Haven't tested in more games , but I guess it will be the same.
The card will need a replacement? I have a Corsair CX600 , AMD FX 8350, Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600 mhz
I read somewhere about GPU bios update. I ran the GPU ASUS TWEAK software that came in with the CD, and i tried to update something but i got a message ROM programming fail. But then it seemed to installed the update and forced me to restart the computer.
But still i get artifacts.
What do you suggest?

@Dejan99x, i have the same problems when i play Gta4, i just downclock the hell out of my card when playing it, 1025/1050 or even lower if needed to get it to run stable, and it sucks you recieved a E1Y card, mine is a e2y card, with lowering clock speeds and applying heatsinks to vrams it made my card a bit more stable, we're not supposed to do that though as it should be able to run on default speeds, but yeah i agree with you on trashing the card lol 🙂

@Nuclear: Report us if E5Y will have any issues.

I again contacted my reseller and they finally promised me refund. It was about time!

Will do ! I am expecting to arrive tomorrow, if not, monday at the latest. As soon as i have it i'll start testing it.

got my rig put together

fx 8350 cpu
8gb of gskill aries 1866 ram
r9 280x
corsair 750w psu
seagate 2tb 7200rpm hd

first thing i loaded up was bf4, 50 gb later ... game runs awesome, way better than old rig

playing on mantle on ultra @ 1080p with rez scale set to 120%, i do notice some micro stuttering which is annoying but afaik its a mantle / driver bug and not a card thing, i need to try the beta drivers

no artifacting in game after 2 hrs of gameplay, no artifacting on desktop

/fingers crossed, loading up more games to try

The more important part is what version is your card, e3y/4 or later?

where do you find the e3/4/5 number ? pic of example?

This is part of serial number (first three characters). You can find it on graphics card itself (check sticker) and on packaging.

i appear to have a e3y card, also experienced my first artifacts in bf4 today

i hadnt noticed any the first few days with regular drivers, i installed 14.7 beta drivers to help with stuttering and it seemed to solve it

but then i had a few instances of wierd completely vision distorting artifacts on one map, so far all other maps have been fine, i did turn the graphcs down from all ultra / 120% res scale to 100% res scale and lowered 1 or 2 settings to high

should i start the rma process or could this be a beta driver thing -_-
