HEllo i just upgraded from an 7870 to the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5

I followed these steps for drivers

1. Ran Catalyst control center from C:/ AMD and did a custom uninstall. Removed all
2. Restarted computer
3. Ran Driver Fusion and deleted everything from AMD
4. Restarted computer
5. Installed latest 13.12 R9 drivers from AMD site

I get artifacts (shapes, lines , squares) flashing everywhere in screen , when in Chrome, in Dota 2 and Planetside 2. Haven't tested in more games , but I guess it will be the same.
The card will need a replacement? I have a Corsair CX600 , AMD FX 8350, Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600 mhz
I read somewhere about GPU bios update. I ran the GPU ASUS TWEAK software that came in with the CD, and i tried to update something but i got a message ROM programming fail. But then it seemed to installed the update and forced me to restart the computer.
But still i get artifacts.
What do you suggest?

Looks like a new bios update was released http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=R9280X-DC2T-3GD5&p=9&s=10

R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 VBIOS update
BIOS update to remove rare artifacting events during gaming, Please also update the Catalyst driver to 13.251 or above

Hi!

I'm also having this issue.
I have a ASUS R280x Matrix Platinum... I even recorded a video...

Does the BIOS posted work on this card also?

Thanks in advance for any help! 🙂

So far I have updated the vBIOS, installed the latest driver from ASUS site and changed the fans manually to be more aggressive. I have yet to see artifacts playing Crysis 2 and Sniper Elite V2. I hope this fixed it cause I hate to RMA the card.

No, the vBIOS is only for the non-Matrix card.

So that means I'm stuck... I guess RMA is my only option?

I guess so. I had the same issues too but I will first try everything I can do to solve them, RMA is my last move.

I have updated bios and problem was still occuring. Watch this :

I have also updated the vBIOS in my R9 280x and I'm still experiencing artifacts.

Hi,

I have two 280x directCu II TOP. Both have the artifacting problem. New bios and drivers changed nothing.
Any word on how well RMA works? Do newer replacement cards work any better than this clearly faulty batch?
