Hi all,
I have 2 of these cards and lately one of them is causing more and more artefacts. It is still in warranty but I believe that the shop will question the warranty if I return them, since most of these artefacts occur in games and not in the benchmarks they run to test them. Do you guys know any benchmark / test that would cause the faulty cards to fail on a consistent basis ?
Thank you

Hi
Try running Furmark with Max settings. Go into settings and max it out. if the card is artifacting it will defiantly artifact in Furmark
You could also try Unigen Valley, max settings as well.
When it comes to artifacts you have to leave the benchmark for a while before noticing it. But like the rest of the R9 280x owners we are all suffering from the same issue, your best bet is to return the card.
i have basically tried everything and the card still has issues. if you do a google search you will find that hundreds of users are suffering from the same problem.
Try the latest crimson drivers if you havent already.

It's definitely a 2-2.5GB+ usage that makes it easier to run into these artifacts. It's ASUS's fault for overvolting the VRAM to try get stable 6.4GHZ speed on them. Which would probably be fine if they used proper cooling of VRAM but they didn't.
I'm now in a horror stage of RMA with ASUS, where my artifacting card has been after 45 days replaced with a card that is a complete mashup of used parts, junk, damaged and can't be used due to the damage, practically DOA.
So far ASUS RMA is one of the worst I have seen. Slow as hell and when they do send you something back that they do not manufacture anymore they mash something up from used parts to brush you off.
It's gonna be a 2nd RMA and who knows how long wait again.
