HEllo i just upgraded from an 7870 to the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5

I followed these steps for drivers

1. Ran Catalyst control center from C:/ AMD and did a custom uninstall. Removed all
2. Restarted computer
3. Ran Driver Fusion and deleted everything from AMD
4. Restarted computer
5. Installed latest 13.12 R9 drivers from AMD site

I get artifacts (shapes, lines , squares) flashing everywhere in screen , when in Chrome, in Dota 2 and Planetside 2. Haven't tested in more games , but I guess it will be the same.
The card will need a replacement? I have a Corsair CX600 , AMD FX 8350, Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600 mhz
I read somewhere about GPU bios update. I ran the GPU ASUS TWEAK software that came in with the CD, and i tried to update something but i got a message ROM programming fail. But then it seemed to installed the update and forced me to restart the computer.
But still i get artifacts.
What do you suggest?

A VRAM problem (or VRAM controller problem), usually appears if overclock VRAM off it's limit on all kinds of Tahiti cards (at least). Seeing this without overclocking means there's hardware problem with the card that cannot be resolved.

Hello

I underclock gpu to 850mhz and memory to various frecuencies (1000mhz, 1150mhz, 1200mhz, 1300mhz, 1400mhz) with same result, i did test in another pc and same problem, i did ask for a new RMA because the problem was intensified these days, now i play for 10 minutes or less and my computer crashes. I did look in google for the same problem and found a lot of user with it, i add a picture from another user but it's same that happends to me, i did format my pc for discard a software problem, however my previous card was serial E1YV and i never had artifacts, flickering or crashing, these is E1YV too and have crash problem, i did talk with asus support asking for a nvidia rma but they said that only can rma for the same product and model, if these card comes defective too i'll never buy again asus and amd gpu products, in this forum there was an officially pronuntiation of amd or asus about these cards?

If you still have the card, make sure you reboot PC when trying new frequencies: once appeared, artifacts will stay within current boot sessions.

You're not the first with this, and it isn't a perfect solution - stay without overclocking. For some cases pushing core clock with slowing down the memory may give better performance still without artifacting, try this. Find the maximum memory clock when artifacts do not appear even with overclocked core.

Hello guys...
I changed/RMA 1 time my Asus R9 280X in November 2013 (there was a problem with the fan mount),
and with this last one, rarely, I get graphic corruption after some hours of playing.
Obviously without any OC apps and without overclock.

I thought it was a driver problem, and since I do not play much like before, I gave up.
Some days ago, I played with AC Unity, and I got again "blocky" corruption in a part of the game (with Black Flag the corruption it was a little different).
Previously, I got a full screen "corruption" on World of Warcraft, 2 times, and after 1/2 hours of playing...

I play always with vsync enabled/60HZ/fps monitor.

My memory model it seems "SK Hynix H5GQ2H24AFR" on "bus 1".

On my country, Italy, the legal warranty is 2 years, but I don't know what to do by now.
I've seen a bios for R9 280X, but I'm not sure it is safe for my model.

Any suggestion?
I can't buy different heatsinks for VRAM/card.

Is there any official answer for our problem?

The "optimized" bios hurts a lot! -15% of FPS!

GTA V, 1680x1050, maxed, FXAA.

Last bios, default frequency:
Frames Per Second (Higher is better) Min, Max, Avg
Pass 0, 30.914999, 129.941940, 67.936661
Pass 1, 21.206326, 125.596870, 47.589153
Pass 2, 30.691530, 127.522781, 69.654442
Pass 3, 20.175030, 127.933266, 68.120338
Pass 4, 18.629913, 128.331940, 57.281006

by The Stilt for DC2T (old bios 039): :

Frames Per Second (Higher is better) Min, Max, Avg
Pass 0, 23.765757, 82.936790, 57.164490
Pass 1, 18.842703, 62.423359, 39.711010
Pass 2, 27.978939, 128.791260, 59.230019
Pass 3, 32.463562, 127.937973, 55.881691
Pass 4, 17.327955, 111.201195, 44.879169

In the end, this bios is worse than the official, I get artifact also at 1500MHz very early and lower performance than before.

Is there a way to check (like during in the night) the Vram of the card?

MSI Afterburner shows true voltage for this card in its monitoring. Or if you have voltmeter, it's really easy to measure it using ROG connect port.

Yeah, thanks, it's 1.6v for me.
Today I got huge artifacts after 6-8 hours of playing on GTA.
I need to check "errors" on video memory (long session, in loop), is there an automatic way?
