HEllo i just upgraded from an 7870 to the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5

I followed these steps for drivers

1. Ran Catalyst control center from C:/ AMD and did a custom uninstall. Removed all
2. Restarted computer
3. Ran Driver Fusion and deleted everything from AMD
4. Restarted computer
5. Installed latest 13.12 R9 drivers from AMD site

I get artifacts (shapes, lines , squares) flashing everywhere in screen , when in Chrome, in Dota 2 and Planetside 2. Haven't tested in more games , but I guess it will be the same.
The card will need a replacement? I have a Corsair CX600 , AMD FX 8350, Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600 mhz
I read somewhere about GPU bios update. I ran the GPU ASUS TWEAK software that came in with the CD, and i tried to update something but i got a message ROM programming fail. But then it seemed to installed the update and forced me to restart the computer.
But still i get artifacts.
What do you suggest?

Even months after I purchased the card? If I could switch to a GTX 770 I would love that.

Call your reseller, he might agree to exchange it with a GTX 770.

I would really recommend at least trying to get a 770 as a replacement. I received a 770 4Gb last week as a replacement for the Asus 280x Direct CUII Top. It works like a dream, no artifacting in any games and the card runs very quiet. It's so nice to be able to game now without having to worry about when the next glitch is going to happen. I know the rma procedure can be a hassle but it can be worth it.

I have the RoG Matrix 290x and I have terrible artifacts with mine as you can see in this video.

Killing them softly.

That is a coincidence, I don't think the problem is also on 290x models.

What do you mean by this? I've scoured the web and seen quite a few 290x owners with these artifacts including myself. Or is my issue different?

Not for 290x, they are more stable than 280x because the VRAMs are not the same and not overclocked to the limit.

From seeing what was on that video, you don't beleive that to be VRAM? Or just a different problem all together?

Its probably VRAM related but ROG R9 290x utilizes Elpida VRAMs and no Hynix like the R9 280x. It's strange tho why are those modules failing.

Those 2mm heatsinks look really sweet so i hope it solves it for you bro.

Some of them of use the hynix ones as well but they're of different models. The ones in 290 etc use the 1.6 volts one. While 280 uses a different one @1.5V. That's why when these are OCed to operate on higher frequencies they create graphical problems for us.
