Question about R9 280x DirectCU II TOP

Does anybody know how much clearance there is between the VRAM chips and the heatsink on this card? I built small heatsink bits using the fins off another heatsink to combat the heat artifacts, and the bits of metal worked. So, I've decided to replace them with real heatsinks. I found some copper heatsinks on Amazon that are about 6mm tall. I found some that are thinner, but the are also much smaller (6mm square vs 12mm for the copper ones).

So, will the 6mm ones fit?

Why even put the fins on a card that runs cool already. If you are getting heat artifacts, I would look more at getting a different case with good ventilation.

Don't bother fixing what ASUS messed up and losing warranty. Just RMA the card and ask for a refund. They don't have any replacement cards at least not ones that actually work. So either force them to upgrade you or return you money.
The space there is tiny you can see it on your card, if you really wanna install some sinks you can always cut them to be shorter.
