My asus r9 290 direct cu ii behaves like a reference card

It goes up to 95c under load, and throttles like a reference card, anybody experienced this? I have tried even with open case, I read around its just the dcu that does not fit the 290/x mh?
It is advertised 20% reduced temps: which should be around 76c max. Absolutely not true with my card.

Run FurMark for 10hours and hope the card dies within this time, so you can RMA it. 😉

What are your ambient case temps?
Have you manually adjusted the fan speeds at all? At 95C they should be on full blast.

Im sorry it is not really true, it does not reach 95, it reaches 94, because at 94 it throttles so it does not go further up, with software control, fans reach 82%, loud as ****, temps go around 82 with case fans at 35% (3x140mm), with case fans at 100% it drops 2c. I have tested this without fan cover, is there really any benefit regarding the fan cover except for aesthetics? I was thinking about air flow but im skeptic, I might wanna just buy a couple of custom 120mm fans and replace them and run without fan cover if that would be possible, but it seems nonsense to me replacing fans for an aftermarket cooler...
Anyway using full speed fans as "normal" scenario seems crazy to me, I dont think this is normal in any case, I can't even hear my own voice with such noise

standard stuff, 2 front intake stock fans, 1 back exhaust stock fans, 1 push on vrms sp120l, one push on mobo sp120l in the backchamber of the carbide 540, 2 exhaust on radiator. There is really no problem in the case

I guess that changed nothing in case of temperatures...
The rear fan is pushing air in or out?
Did you try to mount a fan, where the HDD is at the moment to get a direct airflow to the graphics card?

yes I tried with a fan vertically sitting on the hd, also horizontally to help, but does not really change anything
