OP, if you gonna build eyefinity with 3x 2560 resolution monitors, you will need DP to Dual Link DVI active adaptor which is rare and expensive.
He wants HDMI connectivity so I doubt they're 2560x1440 or 2560x1600. HDMI is single-link cabling by design.
Op, please ignore the information below as I don't think it applies to your situation. It's only relevant to people who wish to run Eyefinity 3x1 using 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 displays with DVI connectivity. I wrote it to help out anyone who stumbled into the thread through the forum search function.
To elaborate on 7970 Matrix Platinum connectivity and 3x1 Eyefinity using 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 DVI port displays, you'd need two DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Active adapters. One of the DVI ports in the 7970 Matrix Platinum is SL-DVI only so you would have to shift the connection configuration to two DP ports and the one DL-DVI port. Two dual-link active adapters @ $80-100 each is quite a price to get DL-DVI port compatibility for 3x1 Eyefinity. In the case of 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 displays it would be more cost effective just to buy them with DP ports in them and do away with adapters all together. I also do not recommend the Dual-Link DVI active adapters be used. There is a history of sync drop and taring with the dual-link adapters and AMD Eyefinity configurations that goes back three generations of AMD cards. While it's a rare annoyance it does occur every once in awhile. It's best to not use DVI connectivity at all for Eyefintiy 3x1 2560 display configurations if you're buying all new equipment. DP native is the way to go. Hopefully this information is helpful to anyone that wishes to do 7680x1440 or 7680x1600 3x1 Eyefinity.
