Seriously what is the reasoning behind me not being able to update drivers >.> I am getting so mad at this thing I seriously almost just ripped it out to smash it. I demand NEW bios!!!!
Asus: "Just install the old outdated drivers, its not like you bought this for performance or anything"
.......... Really, Really, Irritated right now. Just have to vent a little.

Thanx 🙂 lol. Unfortunately I feel that is the only thing decent to it right now >.> I just don't understand why it won't let me upgrade the drivers I go round and round with this problem every time I feel the urge to try to update them. I figured hey being two 7970's it would just assume thats what I had installed.... I guess not ?

That's strange, I can update drivers, what happens when you try to update? The ares 2 is a dodgy card and never should have seen the light of day, and asus wont even acknowledge it has massive problems. ( or asus just don't give a **** ). And yes we do need a new BIOS, this has been proven with the 2d clock fix for jumping.
Here is the report at the end if you can make sense of it. It just says fails to install. If it doesn't totally crash.... I even tried so far as a fresh windows installation on a different hdd.... same thing

Sorry mate, I haven't a clue, Fresh install of windows was going to be my suggestion. @ the moment im using a 8150 cpu to. And the ares hates it overclocked. Putting mine on stock settings stoped bsod and freezing.
can you install drivers with any other amd gpu on that system?
Ok so I figured out the driver issue was related to win 8 not the card. I couldn't install drivers for my old 5970 either. I grabbed an extra hdd and threw a fresh install of win 8 on it and the driver installed right away without a hitch. I contacted Microsoft and they told me to contact AMD about it. I don't know I think it is more of a win 8 issue myself..... could be AMD though i guess. I did however get 13.4 to install after a lot of monkeying around. Still can't install beta 13.6 though on the old boot.
I'm thinking its a registry thing......

eh either way ares 2 is still fail win 8 or not unfortunately. really wish they would own up to their mistake and at least post on some of our issues. Even a "sorry we are fixing it" would give me a ray of hope
