Feature Request: Per‑Game Overlay Toggle in GPU Tweak III

Max-20B

Hello ASUS team,

I have a suggestion for GPU Tweak III.
Currently, the overlay must be enabled globally before launching a game, otherwise it will not appear.
This is inconvenient compared to other tools like MSI Afterburner.

It would be very useful to add a checkbox in each game profile to automatically enable the overlay when that game starts.
This way, users could decide per game whether they want the overlay active, without keeping it globally enabled all the time.

Such a feature would greatly improve usability and make GPU Tweak III more flexible.
Thank you for considering this idea!

Hi @Max-20B

You can create per-game profiles, or blacklist games you do not want to use. Currently, I think the best method is black listing anything you don't wish to use the OSD. I've tried using a custom OSD with zero monitoring or features as Global, and using the connect function to add a functioning overlay per-game. Let me know how this works for you.

Thank you for your reply. I am aware of the Connect function that links an OSD profile to a game. However, this does not solve the issue I described. Even if a game has an assigned OSD profile, the overlay does not appear unless OSD is globally enabled before launching the game. My suggestion is to add an option in each game profile that automatically enables OSD when that game starts, without requiring the global OSD toggle to be always on. This behavior exists in MSI Afterburner and is very convenient. Currently GPU Tweak III only selects which OSD profile to use, but it does not turn the overlay on. Could this feature be considered?

Hi,

It doesn't directly solve the problem; however, if you're creating a blank OSD and applying it globally, it's effectively the same thing. The exclusion would be using Connect to apply a valid OSD to games you want to use it on. That way it doesn't matter whether the global toggle is enabled.

I'm not aware of another method as of this moment, but I agree that it makes sense that there be one.

Hi, thanks for your reply! I get that right now OSD can only be applied globally or via Connect without turning it on automatically. It would be really handy if each game profile could enable OSD when the game starts, just like in MSI Afterburner. This would make things much easier for users. Hope you might consider adding this in a future update!
