ASUS ROG Strix RX Vega 64/56 Release Date???

As per thread title, has anyone heard anything other than "September" for release of the RX Vega Strix? With GPU prices increasing and corporate greed taking advantage of the current cryptomining infatuation I want to know how much this new variant will cost. The reference RX Vega 56 has already seen a price increase which makes it around $50 CAD more expensive than existing GTX 1070 stock. In the past reference card models have typically been more expensive than AIB partner cards, however I'm still concerned that the 56 in particular will be sold at GTX 1080 prices given that the 64 is already priced where the 1080 Ti sits.

I picked the wrong time to assemble a new build. Although prices on other components have been reasonable with rebates, the price of new VGA's really nullifies the savings I've been able to achieve thus far. Again, I've heard little about the ROG Strix Vega other than September release date, some pictures and a respectable performance review which i can no longer find. And guru3d also took down their review due to an ASUS error which found the wrong card in guru3d's hands:

Lets get it together, people.

Two RX580 in CrossFireX are not as good as one Vega 64, overall, but still AMD (FreeSync) and also less expensive. Although of course one RX580 ain't no Vega but it ain't gutless either, and three or four RX580s would still be impressive while also less costly.
Maybe not a bad option (in today's market of over-inflated GPU prices) while we wait until early-/mid-2018 ...

I mean we've already waited this long. What's a few more months wait vs next-gen cards?

(Although I do not intend to wait yet another year, until early-/mid-2019 when ASUS finally releases these. If they can't keep up then I'll just buy GPU cards from companies which can.)

That's no surprise, but then again Strix 64 was supposed to be late Q3, and we are aproaching the end of Q4 and still no word. Honestly it all depends on AMD, 64/56 yields and HBM2 scarcity/prices - If nothing changes between now and then, then we'll have a bunch of 64 cards at decent prices, a bunch of reference 56's, and a few third party cards finally hitting market in Q2 2018 at crazy prices not even worth buying that don't do any better than reference. 😞

Just so it's known, 56 Strix was never on radar back during the original press release. This was actually announced a week ago(?) when another vendor announced their 56 custom card. That's not to say they never planned for it, I just don't think they announced it before then afaik.

The prices are a reserve price, they are intentionally set high because they don't know the actual retail prices yet - but at a mark high enough that if retail was any higher it truly would be crazy, and low enough that some will actually pay for pre-order. So either the ones that pre-ordered will get suckered (if they can't cancel) or the sellers will lose a lot of money (if it retails for more than pre-order). Just wait till retail price is announced or its released.

How can ASUS allow preorders when they haven't even finalized specs for these cards???

Don't pre-order. Wait for official release/pricing or buy a 1080/1080 Ti.

Meh. I gave in and just picked up a reference Vega 64 at $599. Massive upgrade from the ROG Strix 480 I had. Should have just done that months ago.
No regrets.

Asus Rolls Out ROG Strix RX Vega Cards, With Scant Details

It would seem as though Asus’ ROG Strix RX VEGA 64 OC and ROG Strix RX VEGA 56 OC graphics cards are finally here.

Originally announced back in August, a variety of technical issues affected the initial production of custom RX Vega graphics cards from add-in board makers such as Asus. Now that those issues are (presumably) out of the way, we’ve seen Radeon RX Vega card announcements from both PowerColor and Gigabyte in recent days. Now, according to a pair of product pages on the company's website, Asus is ready to join the party.

That's nice, It sounds like they are trying to make it sound like ASUS is making an official launch, but what pages actually say that?

I mean, sure the product pages were updated a tiny bit (?), but I hardly think that indicates an official launch. The Vega 56-OC pages now exist, but I'll admit I never payed attention to when it was actually put up, so IDK how long that was there. It would be nice if they actually posted the links, perhaps it has dates somewhere or maybe a press release or something?
