ASUS ROG Strix RX Vega 64/56 Release Date???

As per thread title, has anyone heard anything other than "September" for release of the RX Vega Strix? With GPU prices increasing and corporate greed taking advantage of the current cryptomining infatuation I want to know how much this new variant will cost. The reference RX Vega 56 has already seen a price increase which makes it around $50 CAD more expensive than existing GTX 1070 stock. In the past reference card models have typically been more expensive than AIB partner cards, however I'm still concerned that the 56 in particular will be sold at GTX 1080 prices given that the 64 is already priced where the 1080 Ti sits.

I picked the wrong time to assemble a new build. Although prices on other components have been reasonable with rebates, the price of new VGA's really nullifies the savings I've been able to achieve thus far. Again, I've heard little about the ROG Strix Vega other than September release date, some pictures and a respectable performance review which i can no longer find. And guru3d also took down their review due to an ASUS error which found the wrong card in guru3d's hands:

Lets get it together, people.

A little encouraging at least. I'm starting to consider jumping ship for the first time since moving off of the Voodoo 3. Or at the least, just giving in and getting a reference card.

still no info, asus are getting worse with product releases. might have to either get reference or forget about it and get another card. this is getting silly now. any info if better then none which is what we are getting these days.

AMD had its big launch of Radeon RX Vega a few weeks ago now, and while it hasn't been smooth sailing by any means, ASUS is the first in the world with a custom Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics card. The new ASUS ROG Strix Vega 64 graphics card is a better offering than what AMD has to offer in reference form, but just how much better? That's something we'll have to wait for the full review, but for now, we'll give you a look and what I've been up to all week.

Except:
So far all RX Vega graphics cards that AIBs have been selling were directly supplied by AMD. All the card makers have been doing so far is slapping their stickers on the cards, packaging them and putting them out the door. If you’ve been holding off that Vega purchase in hopes of grabbing a custom card, you will have to wait some more. Asus may be the only exception, official word is their Strix cards will begin shipping this month. Exactly when is still uknown.

Any more lies?

Is that Wccftech lying to us or is it instead somebody lying to them?

While Wccftech is a source I sometimes refer to (plus it's one I linked to above) it is not always entirely credible. Sad that even the top-level media/review sites are sometimes prone to exaggerations and embellishments which distort the hard facts.

I'm guessing ASUS not being entirely truthful with Wccftech. Wccftech does however have a history of making inconsequentially falsified statements.

well oct is coming to an end soon and still no word, not good for AMD or Asus. this Vega release has been a disaster. 2 months and still no custom cards from anyone.

Artificial scarcity. AMD and NVIDIA are probably not in any special hurry to drive GPU availability back up and GPU prices back down, lol.

There are also trolls babbling about a shortage of HBM, though I couldn't find any credible references to this.

Not sure how much I buy his expertise. Fact is we don't know for sure what these companies are up to. Although there might be a genuine supply shortage are the consumers the reason for it? What's to stop Intel, AMD, ASUS, MSI, EVGA, Gigabyte, etc.. from creating a shortage thus legitimizing price increases and blaming consumers, particularly miners, as the cause? A shortage isn't really a good reason to increase prices, anyway, but it's reasoning the average consumer accepts so they take advantage of that certitude. "Oh, we don't have enough to go around so we'll charge premiums." What??? It doesn't cost more to manufacture, numb nuts, so why should I pay more? Wait times are enough of a penalty.

HBM...I doubt there's a shortage. DRAM...I doubt there's a shortage. GPU prices have begun to come down but you'll notice price of RAM is increasing. However, when I go to my trusted retailer what is there never a shortage of? That's right. RAM modules. Maybe a different story in other countries but I still think another price fix is transpiring. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DRAM_price_fixing

Again, these "experts" with years of schooling come to these conclusions and make these statements about how consumers drive the market prices up but they fail to recognize all other capitalist business approaches.
